Kellin's POV

Wednesday

After spending the night in my car, my whole body was aching. That was the most uncomfortable sleep I'd had in a while. However, it beat going back to the apartment, or taking the five hour drive to my parents, and paying money for a hotel.

I was now entering a Walmart to get some cheap breakfast.

Well, I didn't exactly know if you could call three family size bars of chocolate at one in the afternoon breakfast.

But suddenly there was screaming.

A low pitched, loud voice was yelling out orders. I couldn't see anyone in the isle I was down. But from the sounds of it, there was people checking the isles and getting the others out as hostages. I heard a scream from the isle next to mine as someone was lugged out.

I couldn't even bring myself to do anything. All I could do was stand in the sweets isle, bars of chocolate in my hand, my eyes wide.

They only got wider when I saw that neon hair.

When I saw that beautiful face come around the corner.

Her jaw dropped instantly. Time seemed to freeze. I couldn't believe it was her, standing right there. She couldn't seem to believe I was here either.

She didn't know what to do or say, and neither did I.

So we just stared at each other.

Surprisingly enough, I started to laugh. She was robbing Walmart again with her mop of green hair. I just kept laughing, and I couldn't seem to stop.

Then someone else came into view. He eyed me laughing and looked at me as if I were crazy.

"Get out here now." He snarled as he aimed his gun at me.

"Don't you fucking aim that at him." Jinx said as she lunged for his gun and slapped it out of his hands. "We're not here to kill. Fuckface."

He picked up his gun, annoyed. "Fine. I'm going to the next isle. Remember, we need them all out by the counters where we can see them."

As soon as he left she rushed down the isle. She stopped a few steps in front of me. I didn't know what I was meant to be feeling, or how I was feeling. I had so many questions, so much to say, but now wasn't the right time.

"Jinx..." I trailed off, trying to think of something to say.

"Kellin." She managed to choke out.

I stepped closer and hugged her. I had to see if she would slip through my fingers. But no, as I wrapped my arms around her, instead of disappearing, she hugged me back tightly.

"I'm sorry." She said. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Chimp said he wouldn't rat me out tot he rest of the gang, and he gave you my letter to make me trust him, but then he did rat me out..." She was crying now. "They said they would kill you if I sent you another letter."

"Oh Jinx..." I sighed as I held her close.

She was to sad to even worry about looking vulnerable in front of me, like she used to. I'd only seen her cry when we had gotten drunk together that one time. But now she was really letting everything out.
