Kellin's POV

Sunday

Ever since the first time I had drawn on Jinx's face, we had been going back and forth. Wednesday I drew on her face. Thursday she drew on mine. Friday, I drew. Saturday, she was the one drawing. And so now it was my turn again.

We had to be extra careful not to wake each other up now, since our sleeps would be restless knowing the other was going to come in and draw on your face that night. She knew it was going to happen; she just didn't know when.

I stopped outside her door sometime at three in the morning, after being woken by my alarm. I had set it especially for this moment. I grinned, clutching the marker in my hand, as I quietly but quickly opened the door.

Light hit me instantly.

There was a torch shining in my face, so bright I gasped and closed my eyes for fear of going blind. As soon as the darkness enveloped me, I was tackled to the ground by a laughing Jinx.

"Gotcha! I stayed up all night waiting!" She whisper-yelled. Then she turned the glare of the light down, although still shining it in my face. "What do you have to say for yourself, mister!"

I opened my eyes and they soon adjusted to the now softer light. "Rape." I said. "Harassment. You tackled me. I'm calling the cops."

"No your not." Jinx said, rolling her eyes. She reached down to my pocket to get my phone out, but she misjudged it, and slipped her hand under the waistband of my jeans instead.

"Jesus." I said, my face going red. "You really are raping me."

She quickly took her hand out and corrected herself, taking my phone from my pocket. "Aha!" she said in triumph. With her voice, she was covering up her embarrassment of what she did before, but her face let everything show.

Opening the phone, she arched and eyebrow and turned it around. "I'm your lock screen?" She said questioningly. And she was; it was a Snapchat picture of her with flowers around her head, one I had forced her to take.

"Yeah." I said sheepishly. "So?"

"Nothing." She said absentmindedly.

I struggled underneath her. "I guess this means you won the war, cause you caught me. Can you get off me now?"

"Okay." She got off of me and helped me up, my phone still in her other hand. She gave it back to me afterward.

Mistake.

This time it was me tackling her, my marker still in my possession after she failed to notice it. I quickly took the lid off the marker, knowing I wouldn't be able to hold her down for long.

Just as I finished drawing three dots in the corner of her eye, just like my father had tattooed under his eye, she pushed me off of her. The door suddenly flung open and light flooded the room.

Ricky's worried face soon disappeared when he saw it was just me. It changed to a smirk.

"Jesus. I thought someone came to rape Jinx in her sleep." He eyed me as if he were still thinking about it. "Maybe I wasn't wrong."

We burst into fits of laughter.

"I lost the war." I said. "But, I did get my last revenge." I gestured to Jinx's face.

She poked her tongue out at me. "You cheated!"

"No! You cheated! You stayed up all night waiting!" I retorted.

By the door, Ricky was still laughing. "You guys fight like a married couple." He commented. "Anyway, seems like I interrupted something. Should I leave?"

"No." I blurted. "A-And, you didn't interrupt anything." I said, the blush returning to my face.

He waggled his eyebrows, aiming his suggestive eyes at Jinx. "Sure about that?"

"Yup." Jinx said.

She looked to me and then came closer. For some reason I thought she was going to kiss me, but instead she whispered in my ear. "Give me the marker. You hold him down and I'll do the drawing."

I gave her a nod.

I stood up and so did she. Ricky looked a little uneasy, but there was no way he could have predicted what we were about to do.

I rushed him, and he stumbled backward, surprised. I held him back against the wall, restraining his arms.

"What the fuck! I thought you weren't into guys!" He exclaimed, as I held him against the wall. I chuckled.

Jinx teased him, waving the marker around in front of his face. "Now, what shall we draw?" She said. She took the lid off the marker and neared his skin with it.

On his forehead she wrote 'Please punch me.' And on both his cheeks she wrote 'Bitch slap me.' Then she drew a dick going into his mouth. Finally, we had to leave it at that, as he shoved me off of him. Jinx dropped the marker and caught me.

"Aren't I meant to catch you?" I breathed, as she saved me just before I could fall.

She just laughed and didn't reply, steadying me on my feet again.

"Well. Thanks guys." Ricky said, as he touched his face. "I hate to cut your adventures short, but you do realize it's three in the morning? I kinda want to get some sleep after I wash this off, yeah?"

Jinx yawned. "Alright. I'm really tired anyway."

Ricky left the room, after saying goodnight to us again. Then it was just as it started. Me and her. Alone. In her bedroom. We stood silent for a moment.

"Well, I guess I'l see you in the morning." I said awkwardly.

Jinx came a little closer. Another step. And another, and another; until her arms wrapped around me.

"Can't wait." I thought I heard her murmur over my shoulder.

We both let go of each other and I tucked my hands into my pocket, leaving the room quickly to disguise my flaming cheeks.

Why would she say that if I had no effect on her, if she didn't like me? Why would she hug me goodnight? I felt like picking a flower and chanting, 'she likes me, she likes me not,' repeatedly until the last petal fell. But if it ended up on 'she likes me not,' I'd have to pick another flower.

One cannot simply accept that answer.
