Jordan's POV
Hershal told everyone that my ankle was healed, but we needed to stay where we where because I needed to strengthen it. That was a week ago, we still haven't moved. They're not moving because of of me. They could have found a safe place to stay by now, but no they don't want to move because my ankle is a burden, I am a burden.
They have been letting me walk around a little bit, but for the most part, I am stuck in the moving van. Again.
I have decided that I need to get out of the camp. I'm leaving them. When I'm around, they're stuck out in the open.
I began to pack up the necessary supplies for when I leave as soon as everyone is asleep.
I have been ignoring everyone for the past day and a half, especially Maggie and Glenn. Because I don't want anyone to know that something is wrong, or that I'm leaving.
I took a deep breath of the cool fall air. It is going to be hard to leave the group, but it's for the best. If I don't leave, I could end up getting the whole group killed.
I shifted my light blue denim bag onto my right shoulder. Preparing to leave everyone I love behind. I mentally said goodbye to all of my friends. I'll miss you guys.
I took another deep breath as I shifted past all of the supplies. Now all I need to do is plant the letter next to Maggie and sneak out of camp.
I swiveled my way through the sleeping people, trying not to draw attention to the people on watch. I soon saw my two best friends cuddling together. They where so damn cute! I sighed softly as I slipped the short note into her loose grip.
I began to slowly make my way toward the edge of the forrest. This time I was sure to cover my tracks.
Just as I was stepping into the tree line, I saw a tall figure walking toward me. I quickly slipped behind the tree closest to me.
As I listened for footsteps, I realized who it was. I couldn't hear anything so I knew it was Daryl. Of all the people to find me, it just had to be Daryl.
I silently cursed myself out as I peaked around the tree and saw Daryl glancing around suspiciously.
I was as quiet as I could be for what seemed to be hours, but was only a few minuets. He finally gave up on trying to figure out what seemed to be so suspicious.
As he walked away, I sighed in relief. Relief that was short lived when I saw an upset Maggie walking toward me.
I tensed my face up in disappointment and silently cursed myself as I saw that Maggie was glaring at me and clutching the letter in her left hand tightly.
I knew that it was hopeless to try and run, so I leaned back on the tree.
Once my country friend got to me, she shoved the note at my face. "You where gonna leave!" She exclaimed quietly.
"Calm down, Maggie." I stated calmly, "I have a good explanation."
"Jordan." She started sternly, "I will hit you if you don't have a damn good reason."
I airily laughed but quickly covered it up as a cough when I realized that she wasn't amused.
"I don't want to be a burden to the group." I told her, dead serious.
She broke out laughing at my reply. When she noticed that I wasn't joking, she stopped.
"What makes you think you're a burdon?" Her voice was soft and questioning.
"You guys are out in the open because I can't move, you're in danger because of me. I'm a burdon." She stared at me intently for the longest time.
"Jay..." she began slowly, as if to make sure I wouldn't snap at her, "we're here because we don't know what our game plan is. We need to know we're not wasting gas if we go on one direction."
"Are you sure? You're not just saying this?" I questioned her with a hard look on my face.
"We don't want to go somewhere, were there's nothing for us." She told me.
"Where are we?" I asked her. whenever we would move, I was in a giant box so I had no idea where we where.
She thought over what I said for a few moments before cooking her head to the side as an indicator for me to follow. "Come on, I'll show you."
As soon as Maggie brought me to where the map was, I scrunched up my nose.
I can't believe I'm back here. I'm practically where I started off. As I stare at the map in utter concentration. My muscles tensed and a glare on my face, Maggie watched me closley.
"When my brother was building that treehouse for you..." Maggie began slowly, not sure how I was going to react to what she was saying. She stopped and waited for my acknowledgment. I nodded for her to continue. "You told me that you and... her..." Katy "...lived neer here."
"We did" I mumbled softly, hoping my voice didn't betray me.
"I haven't told anyone that you know this place well." She told me quickly, "but we need somewhere to stay."
"I can get you guys back to my house." She nodded. I was scared to go back. I didn't want to see the house in fear of what was, and wasn't there.
I didn't want to find the girl that I practically raised, to be dead in our home. But, if she wasn't there, then she might still be alive, she might be looking for me.
I was lost in thought. As I slowly came out of my head I looked at Maggie and saw that she was looking right back at me, sympathetically.
"I need a pencil." I told her. She nodded and went through a plastic shoe box for the small wooden writing utensil that I would use to circle my home. The home that I shared with Katy.
