Chapter-4

JingYu’s ears pricked by the slight change in the air in his room, but he didn’t look up from the task at hand. He knew who it was anyway.

“When will you quit trying to jump me?”

Mohor snorted in a whiney way, “Till the day I finally catch you off guard.” And hop on the bed beside him.

Mohor was senior than him in terms of their turnings, though she was younger when turned. One of Athair’s protégés, just like JingYu. In his early days, when struggling with the changes his body was going through, it was Mohor who took care of him like a mother. Since then, she tended to see JingYu as her charge, her to protect, her to annoy. But her short height, young face, caramel skin tone made it hard for JingYu to consider her as someone senior. So, the fight of claiming seniority was a constant thing between them.

“Oh. My. Morgana! Did you just buy a smart phone?”

She was also the odd one among these cold creatures that roamed the Lair.

“None of your business,” still trying to make this damned thing work, JingYu grumbled. He still hadn’t figured out how to reply Zhou’s texts.

“Hah, as if you’d know how to operate it without me. Give it to- give it to meeee” she started to wrestle it out of JingYu’s grasp.

All JingYu had to do was raise his arm at full length.

“You didn’t even tell me you bought a phone and now you have the nerve not to let me see?! Do not forget I’m your senior!”

“You’re 3 feet tall. It’s hard to take you seriously, Mohor.”

“5 feet 6!”

“5 feet 2.”

JingYu rolled his eyes. What was the point of arguing when it was clear that he’d be needing her help. He threw the device at her.

“How do you even handle this menace?”

“Just ‘cause you’re a dunderhead doesn’t mean everyone is,” she also rolled her eyes. “But why this sudden change of heart? I thought you didn’t have any interest in these gadgets?”
JingYu, of course, didn’t answer. Mohor turned to him.

“JiiiiiiingYu?”

Whenever she lengthened his name like this, nothing good came.

“I can’t tell you anything at present.”

“But why? Tell me! There’s someone, isn’t there? Who? Within the Coven? Outside? When all this happened? Why wasn’t I told earlier? How far did you go? Have you mated yet? Don’t tell me it’s a human! Is it? Are you finally over of your heartbreak? Or are you just playing? ‘Cause don’t come to me crying if something goes wrong. Have you told Athair? Oh that reminds me, Athair has called for a meeting.” She finished in one breath.
