Chapter 11

Normal P.O.V

Before Class

After class ended and lunch started Ayato took the time to check in on Lucy. She didn't seem normal and if anything he wondered if the usual rumors she heard had gotten to her. He opened the door to see Lucy in a low mood. From what it looked like, she was video chatting Mira. She is gonna be pissed. Especially after he had to debate with her to get Lucy to work for him. 

Her eyes were puffy and red and her expression seemed full of pain. "The principal even congratulated him. I signed up for a job just to screw it up. I wanted to help him but continued our actions and now everyone knows. I have no choice but to stay away from him." She shook her head.

"Maybe you should come home." Hearing that put pain in his heart. 

"I would but I don't want to leave him."

"I understand Lucy but still."

"Lucy" Ayato walked inside and closed the door. She looked at him. "Their words are just rumors."

"I know but part of them are true. Not only that but you come here so much, it's only normal for them to assume something." 

"Something? Lucy, you understand that if you give into that it will do nothing but make you feel worse." 

"I know but-" She shook her head and looked at the screen. "Mira, I will call you after work." She nodded.

"Okay, Lucy-chan." She looked at me.

"I can tell them that I am interested in you and admire you-"

"Don't"

"Huh?"

"If you were to do that it can spread to the public. Not only that but that isn't like you. The personality you have now is good and when you get over me and move on to someone else I am not sure how she might take it if she found out that you used to sleep with the nurse." Ayato didn't understand how it bothered to hear her say that. Usually, he could ignore it but now he couldn't. 

"Lucy, I am realizing that I want to be with you so make me-"

"You are fine the way you are."

"But not for you?" She stood up and went to the cabinet before grabbing some folders. 

"I have different tastes but so does everyone else." Was that supposed to be a bad thing? She sat down and looked through the folders. 

"Lu-" The bell rang cutting him off. "I guess we can continue this conversation later." She nodded not looking up.

Three Months Later

Lucy waited for Ayato outside of the mansion doors. Wondering what the man had planned for the two. No matter what he called this, it was not a date and she would never love him. 

"Lucy" She turned around and seen Subaru.

"Subaru-kun"

"Ayato really is a good guy."

"And so are you."

"I know but I don't want to see him hurt." Subaru hugged her. "So I am breaking up with you."

"Subaru-kun"

"I'm sorry," He said before he let go of her and walked inside. Lucy felt someone grab her hand and looked at the person to see Ayato. She glared at him before she sighed.

"What?"

"Subaru and I, are not together anymore."

"Wait, you two were actually dating?"

"Yes" Ayato grabbed Lucy's hand and brought her inside. The two went into his room and sat. 

"What?" He looked at her and seen her blush. Being nice to her felt different. He did- wait what is she doing? Is she kissing him?
