Quick authors note- this is honestly not important to the book at all but it's hilarious so it's okay. And if you don't get the chapter name I'm sad.

Christine Destler

"I still think Presley would enjoy singing at home much more than these silly little dance classes," Erik growled.

"Darling, perhaps she wants to be a dancer. I want to have her give it a try before anything else. You haven't even seen her dance before. She has a lot of fun," I reasoned. I'd finally got Erik to come to one of her practices. The other mothers were great, but I wanted Erik to be there with me.

Presley ran out to meet her friends. The instructor, Madame Angeline, went over to start the class. I held Erik's hand, guiding him over to where we sit.

For awhile, it was nice. Erik seemed to be enjoying himself, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. As always, something bad had to occur.

"Elizabeth, your daughter is just absolutely fantastic!" I praised. Erik shot me a strange look.

"Thank you, Christine. Lilith works very hard. I'm hoping she gets the lead dance for the next recital. Dance is all she ever talks about," Elizabeth smiled. Erik rolled his eyes. I nudged his ribs, giving him a "knock it off" look.

"Rosalie! How nice of you to join us. I was beginning to think you weren't going to make it today," I admitted as Rosalie sat down with Elizabeth and me.

"I had an appointment! My husband and I just found out we were expecting, actually! He dropped off Marie this morning before coming to the doctor with me," she explained.

"I am so happy for you! I know you two have been wanting that forever," Elizabeth enthused, "anyway, Christine and I were just talking about Lilith. I think she has a pretty grand chance of getting the lead role for the recital."

"Perhaps, Presley will get the lead?" Erik added. I turned quickly to him, glaring.

"Darling, Presley's new. I doubt she will," I disagreed, "My apologies, Elizabeth. This is Erik's first time coming to watch Presley."

"Oh it's quite all right! I'm sure Erik meant nothing by it," Elizabeth shrugged.

Erik Destler

God, I hated that woman. Sure, her kid was graceful, and yes, she danced lighter than feathers, but my daughter was a damn prodigy. I watched intently as Presley danced around, her eyes fixated on her teacher.

I really wished I could teach her to sing. She'd enjoy that much more than this. Nevertheless, she'd be the best in whatever she did. She's a Destler, after all.

"Lilith has been dancing since she was two. Perhaps, someday she'll dance at the opera like you did, Christine," Elizabeth bragged. I turned my attention back to them.

"She did much more than dancing. She was the best singer that opera house has seen," I smirked, wrapping my arm around Christine's waist.

"I always thought Carlotta was a beautiful singer," Rosalie noted.

"Carlotta? She was a toad! She wasn't even half as good as Christine was, well, is," I retorted.

"Yes, well, Erik's opinion, while very strong, is entirely biased. Carlotta was a great singer, Rosalie, you're right." Christine pinched my arm, and I pulled away, shutting my mouth. She was being silly. I wasn't arguing with them. My opinion was just different and right.

"Could you all spare me a moment of your time?" Madame Angeline asked. We all nodded.

"Well, based on today, I have decided that Lilith will be getting the lead role for our recital. Presley and Rosalie will be apart of the group number with everyone else," she explained. Anger filled me.

   "Excuse me?" I hissed.

"Erik-" Christine tried to calm me down, but I cut her off.

"My apologies, but- no. No. You should be apologizing!" I shouted.

"I beg your pardon?" Angeline gasped.

"Lilith is getting the lead? Are you serious? Presley is a BEAUTIFUL dancer! And you're telling me that my daughter isn't even getting some sort of time on the stage without everyone else? Do you know who she IS? She's a DESTLER, for God's sakes!" I roared. Christine held on to my arm, pulling me gently.

"Erik, I didn't mean to offend you," Elizabeth whispered.

"Elizabeth. Can you I call you Beth? I'm going to call you Beth. Beth, listen. You're fine. Really, I mean no harm to you or your child. It isn't your fault my child is in every way better than yours-"

"Excuse me? My child is a beautiful dancer! Your child is quite new, and she's nowhere near as talented as Lilith!" Elizabeth screeched.

     "Elizabeth," Christine gasped.

"Perhaps we should all calm down," Rosalie suggested.

"Shut up, Rosalie!" We all yelled.

"That is QUITE enough. Elizabeth, I would like for you to take your child home for the day. As for you, Monsieur Destler, you may take your prodigy to another class, but I cannot allow your behavior in mine any longer," Angeline demanded.

"Of course. I'm so sorry, Madame," Christine apologized. "Good day to you, Elizabeth. Good day to you as well, Rosalie."

"Presley, it is time to go," I announced. Presley ran over to me, and I picked her up immediately. "We don't need this incompetent class! We will find you a better teacher!"

Christine Daae

I sighed, setting Presley in the carriage and shutting the door.

"Well, I suppose you can start her singing lessons," I gave in, throwing my hands up in defeat.

He grinned, "You know, I never really liked dancing."

In case anyone was wondering yes Dance Moms was my inspiration for this and I'm cracking myself up.
