I held onto Erik's arm tightly on the way home. If Meg wanted me dead, it wouldn't blow over in a day. I was scared, wondering how much time Erik and I had together until something happened.

I didn't worry for my children. We'd protect them at all costs, no matter what. They were our lives, all that we cared for, besides each other.

"Christine, it's going to be all right. I won't let her do anything to us," he whispered to me.

"It won't be easy. You and I know that. I'm just..not ready to say goodbye," I admitted.

"Nobody's saying goodbye," he said, shaking his head in protest.

"If it means that our children and you will be safer, I won't have a choice. If leaving is the right thing to do-"

"It's all going to be okay," he promised.

I sat in my dressing room, removing my stage makeup. Raoul gently opened the door, smiling at me.

"Is it done?" I asked.

"Not exactly," he said nervously.

"What do you mean 'not exactly'? I asked you to get rid of her. It's not that difficult, Raoul," I spat angrily.

"I tried, Meg! She's tougher than she used to be! Christine's...different," he sighed.

"She isn't different, Raoul. She's simply deceiving. She's the same little slut she's always been!" I yelled.

"Darling, please don't be angry with-"

"Don't call me that! It's over!" I pushed him away from me. He looked shocked, hurt even.

"W-what do you mean?" He whispered.

"You've failed me, Raoul. Time and time again, I've asked for one thing: Get rid of Christine. You fail to do so every damn time. I can't rely on you anymore. You can have this little ring. Leave. I don't need you anymore," I explained, throwing the ring at his chest.

"Just like that?" He spoke softly, looking at the ring. I noticed a few tears escape his eyes. What a coward.

"Just like that, Raoul. Do I have to repeat myself? Leave. Get out!" I pushed him out the door, slamming it once he left. I had someone else I wanted to help.

And he would.

Christine Daae

"Gustave, you can take your sisters in the front yard to play. Not too far, though! They're building a new house down the street, and the amount of carriages going by has been strangely high. I don't want you or your sisters getting hurt," I explained. Gustave nodded and ran off with his sisters.

"I suggest we go to America for a few months. I've heard great things about Boston. Who knows? Maybe we could created a permanent residence," he shrugged.

"No. We can't just run off, Erik. We've put all our hard work into our home. We can't just leave this all behind. It isn't fair. We have to stay," I insisted. He nodded, sitting down.
