Chapter 6

I ran after Merida.

Holy crap this girl was fast!

We dashed down the hall towards the globe room, or the main hall or whatever it's called. As soon as Merida and I got there, my heart dropped. A man had just appeared from the globe. Suddenly, Merida was on hear knees crying out in pain.

"Merida?" I asked.

She continued to scream and with every cry it felt as though my heart was being torn. I got down on my knees in front of her. She had her hands over her ears screaming in absolute agony. I carefully placed my hands over hers.

"Merida." I said soothingly.

Still screaming.

"Hey. You're okay. Alright? I'm right her for when it stops. Alright? Just fight it for me." I whispered.

Suddenly the man on the globe began to laugh. An maniacal laugh that sent shivers down my spine.

"My army is ready." Said the man. Black sand began to swirl around him.

Rapunzel feel to the floor screaming with her hands over her ears. Jack rushed to her.

"Punzie?" He called.

"Are you're guardians?" The man asked.

And with that, and a  large puff of sand, he disappeared.

"Merida. He's gone." I said looking at her face.

Her screaming stopped and she looked up at me.

"He's gone." I said again.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she threw herself into my arms. I automatically wrapped my arms around her and rubbed soothing circles on her back. I didn't know what to say, so all I did was whisper in her ear. 

"It's okay." I whispered.

At this point, Punzie had come out of the trance or spell or whatever she had been in.

"Who was that?" I asked. Speaking to everyone in general, hoping for some kind of answer.

"Pitch." Jack growled.

I could tell by the tone of his voice that he and this Pitch guy had a dark past.

"What does he want." Merida asked whipping the tears from her face.

Rapunzel looked up at Jack.

"Yeah Jack, What does Pitch want?" She asked.

Jack looked around as if to check that no one was listening.

"He wants to steal all the happiness in the world and replace it with fear." North said.

I looked over.

"When did you get here?" I asked standing.

North shrugs. "Eh. I been here whole time." He said in his heavy Russian accent.

His lack of proper grammar and complete sentences bugs me.

"What can we do?" Rapunzel asks.

I look at him hopefully. This guy had done something to Merida that had hurt her. Anyone who messes with Merida messes with me. I was going to beat this Pitch to a bloody pulp. As soon as I found out what we were suppose to do.

"You stay out of way." North says pointing a chubby finger at us.

"What? You can't just tell us to stay out of this!" Merida yells.

"I just did." North says.

I groan.

"Now go back to your rooms while we take care of this." Bunny says.

"What?" Merida says a puzzled look on her face.

When did you?" Jack starts to ask.

"First Pitch and now we have random guardians popping out of thin air." I say.

"I wouldn't get caught up in all of this mate." Bunny growls.

"Alright now off with you." North says.

"Why can't we help?" Jack asks.

"Because you lack the knowledge and physical skill." Bunny says.

Jack glares at Bunny.

"Uhh. Let's just go to our rooms instead of start World War 3." I say stepping in between them.

"Fine." Jack mumbles and storms off.

The rest of us follow close behind.

When the lights turned off and I was sure the other guardians, AKA our "Parents", were gone, I got up out of bed.

"Guys." I said.

Everyone sat up.

"Hiccup I don't want to talk to you." Jack said. I could tell he was still pissed off about having to go to his room and all.

"Yeah! How come you didn't want to fight Pitch?" Merida asks.

"I do." I said, "I just didn't argue about it."

"Why?" Punzie asks.

"Let's face it, they are bigger and badder than us and I didn't want to die thank you very much." I stated.

Jack snorted.

I shot a look over at his back.

"I didn't fight because we are going to fight no matter what they say." I said.

Jack turned around. He had that wicked glow in his eye to show that he was interested.

"How?" Merida asks. Her blue eyes wide with excitement.

I smirked.

"We are sneaking out."
