Everything has Changed (A Big 4 Fan-Fiction)

Chapter Nine

Merida's POV

        The wind hurt my ears. My hair flew out of control and with my stomach long left behind, I had no room for butterflies. You would think when you are hurtling to your death, you would be feeling fear. Yeah, the fear was there, I've never been so scared in my life. But Hiccup was falling to his death too. And yet instead of flailing his arms in panic and screaming his lungs out, he had pulled me close and hugged me against his body. Not only had he pulled me close but he kissed me. 

Quite the way to handle facing death in the face right?

        I looked down and could see the ocean waves coming closer and closer, I looked at them feeling no fear. I would stare death in the face, I didn't even care. Jack and Rapunzel could complete the mission without us. All I cared about was the fact that Hiccup had literally fallen after me, that he loved me. Was all that mattered. The waves were only a couple of feet away and I could feel the mist on my cheeks. I closed my eyes, preparing for the blow that would end my life. 

It didn't come.

I waited a moment, completely and utterly confused. Maybe the waves were farther away then I thought they had been.

The blow still didn't come.

In fact, I could feel myself moving.... forward?

I opened my eyes and looked around.

Jack and Rapunzel had swooped from the sky and had caught us seconds before we hit the water. Rapunzel had Hiccups and I caught with some ropes that she got from who knows where. 

I cheered and laughed in relief as Hiccup and I were carried back to Toothless who was several feet above the ocean and we were placed back onto his back. 

"Talk about a close one." Hiccup said.

I laughed "No kidding." I wrap my arms around hiccups waist.

His cheeks flush red for a moment then they return to normal.

"Just don't fall this time okay?" He says

I kiss his cheek. "I promise I won't."

Toothless startes to fly again and we continue our journey to Arendelle.

~ONE HOUR LATER~ 

Jack's POV

        After the incident that occured with Hiccup and Merida nearly dying and hooking up in the process. We finally found the city of Arendelle.

The castle poked up around the beautiful green hills surrounded by water on three sides.

"That's the fourd." Rapunzel says pointing to the ocean. 

"That's a strange word." I say. 

Rapunzel laughes.

I observe the castle. There is a large snowflake at the top of the tallest tower. As I look more closely at the light blue snowflake I notice something.

Is the roof made of ice?

No. I'm the only one that has Ice Powers. There is no way the roof is made of ice. It must just be the way the moon reflected off of it. 

I flew to the front door and touched down setting Rapunzel down.

Toothless lands a few feet behind us and Hiccup and Merida get off.

"This is it." Rapunzel says, "This is where my cousins live." 

I turn to her, "You didn't tell me your cousins were royalty."

She looks down at her bare feet, he brown choppy hair falling in front of her face. "I have some other things to tell you too."

I cock my head to the side, "What is it?" 

She takes a deep breath, closing her eyes for a breif moment.

"Jack.... I'm a..." But she's cut off as the castle gates swing open.

"RAPUNZEL!" A red haired girl shouts as she runs at her and hugs her. The two braids that hang on either sides of her head waking me in the face as she darts past me. 

"Hi Anna." Rapuzel says hugging her back.

"We haven't seen you in ages!" Anna says.

"We?" I ask.

Anna turns and looks at me. "Yes, my sister and I. And who are you?" 

"Umm I'm Jack. I'm Pun... I mean.. Rapunzel's friend." I say.

Anna scans me with her blue eyes for a moment. "It's a pleasure to meet you Jack." She finally says. 

"You too." I say.

"And who else have you brought Rapunzel?" Anna asks looking over at Hiccup and Merida.

"Oh!  This is Hiccup."

Hiccup waves his hand "Hi."

"And thats Merida." 

"It's a pleasure meeting you Anna." Merida says going up to her and extending her hand to shake.

Anna takes it slowly and shakes. "The pleasure's all mine!" She says.

There is a breif moment of an awkward silence between the two. The whole air seemed to sream "UMMM HELP ME OUT HERE!"

"SOOO" Rapunzel says breaking the pressing silence. "We need some help Anna."

Anna turns to her "Of course anything! What do you need?"

"We need to talk to Elsa." Rapunzel says. 

Anna waits a moment, "Well she's asleep right now but I will get her tomorrow! IN the meantime why don't you come and meet my husband!" Anna squels with delight and takes Punzie's hand and quite litterally drags her into the castle yelling the whole way about how excited she was the Punzie was here.

I laughed and followed the two girls into the castle.

One thing still haunted me though as I went into the castle, and it wasn't the image of Hiccup and Merida plunging to their doom. It was the daunting thing that Punzie had said "I have more things I need to tell you too." What did she need to say to me? And more importantly what was she?
