Merida's POV

I screamed and held on to the tree branch so tightly, my fingers were turning blue.

"Who are you?" I shout towards the boy.

"Toothless! I didn't want her here! Take her to the ground!" I heard the boy say.

I sat there puzzled and then I realized I was in it's talons again. I screamed.

"It's okay! He's friendly! Right toothless." The boy mumbled to the dragon. I heard the Dragon huff in protest. Soon enough we were back at the coast line where Agnes (my horse) sat waiting for me.

After the dragon put me down. I i turned to the boy.

"What is that?!?" I scream pointing to the dragon.

The boy sighs. "This is Toothless." The boy says. The dragon huffs.

"Umm, nice to meet you." I say slightly startled.

"Oh and I'm Hiccup." The boy says.

"Hiccup?" I say confused.

"Yeahh. It's not the best name." Hiccup says.

I laugh. So he appeared to be friendly. No need to worry.

"I'm Merida." I say.

"It's nice to meet you Merida." Hiccup says, extending his hand out to shake mine.

I take it and we shake.

"So what brings you here?" Hiccup asks.

"My mother. She doesn't understand me." I say fiddling with my bow.

Now is probably the best time to tell you what this boy looks like.

He had green eyes that shined with a kind of glow that was almost like his brain was constantly working. (Which it was, hopefully.)

He had brown hair that waved across his face. And he had a small, barely noticeable streak of freckles that ran under his eyes.

He was cute.

No Merida!

You can't fall for this boy!

But something inside of me was strange. Every time he looked at me, I got this strange feeling in my stomach. I couldn't describe it. But it felt good!

"What brings you here?" I ask.

"Well, kinda the same reason as you. My dad doesn't like Toothless so he tried to kill him. I took him and flew away." Hiccup says, his green eyes scanning the shore line.

"That really sucks. To have parents but have them not understand you." I say, sitting down and leaning against Toothless's tail.

He was actually a really gentle when he's not in stranger danger mode. Hiccup sits beside me. And we watch the setting sun.

Slowly, I begin to doze off. And then I fall into a deep sleep.
