Last night has been on my mind since I was woken up this morning in the most barbaric way. The date was utterly perfect—not that I have anything to really compare it to. I'm certain the reason the evening when so well is because I was spending it with Jasper. Just being around him makes me feel wide awake, as if I had been sleepwalking through life until I met him.
But last night...I've never felt more alive than I did when we're looking at the stars together. Jasper's southern drawl kept sending shivers down my spine and sparks skid across my skin when he touched my face. I would have kissed him, but I know if I had, there would be no way I could keep my secret.
Bash bombards me with questions after he wakes me up with his yelling and bouncing on my bed, you know, because he's an ass. First thing he asks, is if I spilled the I'm-A-Protector beans. After telling him I didn't, the questions keep coming for about five minutes until I've had enough and kick him out of my bedroom.
Now that I'm alone and have finished my morning routine, I move over to my black dresser, pulling open the drawer that holds my three bikinis. After looking them over, I select my plain black one. Then I grab my black sweats and an emerald green sweater before getting dressed. The sun is supposed to make an appearance today, but it's still gonna to be cold.
I bet my favorite boots on it.
Thirty minutes later, I step out of the the house after Iz calls to let me know she is on her way to pick me up, then it's onto meeting the BangGang. I would have backed out, but I have nothing better to do today. And knowing Bella, she would probably break her arm if I'm not there. It's happened before.
I hear the engine of her truck a good ten seconds before she's in pulling into the driveway. Jogging over to the vehicle, I slide into the passenger seat with small smile as my eyes taking in her outfit. Izzy is dressed similar to me, except her clothes are a size too big for her.
"Next time Alice drags me shopping, I taking you with me," I declare bluntly while observing her unfortunate looking jacket.
Izzy's chocolate eyes flash down at her outfit before looking back at me. "I like my clothes, and you know how I feel about shopping." She backs up out of the driveway.
"'Why shop, when I can read,"' I mimic her voice as I say it. "Come on, Iz. Be like me and love both. A good ensemble is a way of expression."
The brunette rolls her eyes. "Svet, I know what you're doing."
I sit up straighter, playing innocent. "And what's that?"
"You're trying to keep me distracted so I can't ask you about your date," she accuses with an amused tone, keeping her gaze on the road as she brings us closer to our destination. "And you never called."
"I am not," I riposte, attempting to delay the inevitable.
Izzy snorts, "Yes you are."
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Not."
"Too."
A defeated sigh escapes my lungs before I put a end to our bickering, "Okay, enough. We both know this could go on for hours. What do you want to know?" I turn my head towards her as I add, "And I didn't call because I got home late."
