After Austin finally left, Liam and I got some time to know each other.

"So, Liam Conroy, the boy who targeted me with a slap shot, tell me something about you."

He gave me the cutest smile I've ever seen.

Ok. Something must be wrong with me. I've never felt this way about a guy before. I think the meds might be working a little too strong.

"Well my full name is William James Conroy. I was named after the waiter from my parents first date. I've been playing hockey since I was three. I have a disaster that is 12 and very annoying. I like to hike. And recently I gave a civilian a concussion." He smiled again.

Oh. My. God.

This boy was literally perfect. Why is he here wasting his time with a plain have like me. Maybe the medicine is just working really well and I'm hallucinating. This is all just a dream.

Girls like me don't get the cute boy s coming to visit them in the hospital. Girls like me are lucky if they get a comment on Facebook from a boy who is not related to them during they hope you feel better.

I decided if this was a dream, I would play along.

I smiled back.

"So, why we're you named after a waiter?" I asked giggling

"Well long story short, my parents hated each other on their first day but when the waiter hit on my mom, my dad realized he didn't ever want to let her go so, they decided to name me after the guy that bought them together. Yeah this doesn't sound as romantic as when I say it. Actually it makes me sound creepy. But it's actually a good story when my parents tell it. Don't worry you'll hear it sometime for sure." He said winking at me.

He just winked at me

And implied I was going to meet his parents.

Woah, this is a really good dream.

"That actually sounds pretty romantic, even though you sounded a little cranky" I said smiling.

"If it makes you feel any better I was named after my aunt's favorite childhood doll."

It was true, my mom didn't find out the sex of me and when my aunt found out it was a girl she told my mom she couldn't wait to buy me a doll just like Eleanor and my mom decided then and there that was my name.

"I thought I had it bad" he said pretending to be embarrassed for me.

I hit him with my bleach white hospital pillow

"Hey! At least my aunt didn't have a chuckie doll, then I'd be in serious trouble." I said laughing

"No, I like your name though. I think it suits you perfectly. You look just like an Eleanor." He said with this indefinable look on his face. Like he was happy and he hadn't been in a really long time.

"I told you, it's ok to call me Ellie." I said trying not to blush.

"Ok Ellie, as I was saying earlier I really did notice you in the stands before the game. I really would like to take you out some time. What do you say?"

"I don't know Liam, we go to different schools and I can tell you must be really popular and I'm literally nobody who almost got homeschooled last year because I have one friend and spend all my time at the gym."

Ok, now I was getting mad. I don't need some super cute jock giving me a concussion and then coming to visit me in the hospital and being all cute and asking me to go on a date. God, why am I so headstrong?

Why can't I just be like a normal teenage girl and jump into his arms and ride off into the sunset?

But, no I'm the girl who's sensible and realistic and will probably sabotage all chances of a happy ever after.

"Ellie, I'm not going to give up on you. I will make you give me a chance." He got his stuff and got up to leave.

He looked heartbroken.

Before he made his way to the door he made a detour to my hospital bed.

He gave me a peck on the cheek.

"Feel better El, I'll see you soon"

And with that he walked out the door.

...wait what just happened?
