As I was driving home I was thinking of ways I could explain this to Alyssa. There was a big chance she was going to be mad that I hid this from her. But, I was hoping she was going to be the supportive sister who would act as my fairy godmother today and help me find a cute outfit while we were shopping for my date with Liam.
As I walked in my front door, I called for Alyssa.
“Hey, sis! Are you ready to go now? Or do you want to go shower and get ready?”
“I’ll get ready before we go.” I decided I would wait to tell her about Liam.
I went upstairs to the bathroom that Alyssa and I shared and started the hot water.
Hot showers always cleared my mind. I still couldn’t believe I was going on a date with Liam tonight. It didn’t feel real.
Popular jocks didn’t usually go for geeky girls. That kind of stuff only happened in movies. i was just hoping I wasn’t secretly in a coma and this was all just one big dream. I could still feel pain. So, I guess this is real life.
After, I finished my shower I began to look for a cute shopping outfit. I decided to wear a pair of dark skinny jeans, a white tank top, and a grey cardigan with some black riding boots. The look was cute and simple. I looked good I will admit, but it was probably just the glow from Liam telling me he cared about me. I don’t think I will ever be able to get over that.
I walked downstairs and saw Alyssa at the kitchen table eating a sandwich and checking her twitter account on her phone.
I sat down next to her.
“Hey, are you about ready to go?” I asked
“Yeah, just let me finish my sandwich. So, guess what?”
“What?” I asked suspiciously. Knowing Alyssa this could literally be anything.
“You know Gabriella from my volleyball team?” She asked.
“Uh no, should I?” I had no idea who this Gabriela was or what she did.
“Oh, well that doesn’t matter but, her cousin plays for the Falcons and asked me if I would go to their hockey game tonight? Isn’t that so cool! Everyone knows all the boys on that team could get modeling contracts like that,” she said snapping her fingers to show how easily they could. Alyssa had this dreamy look in her eyes.
Yup, my sister was a little boy crazy. She literally looked for any opportunity to meet guys.
“Oh, um about that, I kind of need to talk to you about something.” I began to get all fidgety and anxious about how I was going to tell her about everything.
“Do you not want me to go because they hit you in the head?” she said with concern in her voice.
“Oh, no. I just, um, I am going too, you know the guy who hit me in the head? Of course you do. But, uh he came and visited me in the hospital. And he found me at the library today and he um, asked me to come to the game, as in like a date. But, I was going to ask you to come with me. But, since your friend asked you, you don’t have to sit with me or anything.”
Ok, I got that out of my system no matter how awkward it was, I got it out and now she knows everything.
OH GOD.
She knows everything now. She is probably going to be so mad I didn’t tell her earlier.
A few seconds passed and she was just sitting there staring at me.
“So you’re telling me that the guy who hit you in the head with a hockey puck and landed you in the hospital with a concussion saw you at the library and asked you on a date?” she said looking me dead in the eye.
