you as lee jiho

there was a weird feeling in the air. it was eerily calm. ever since i'd woken up this morning, i'd had this nagging feeling that something was going to go wrong. it didn't help that the city seemed to be a bit deserted. there had been very few people walking about and even fewer cars driving around.

i looked up at the sky and looked at the reddish-orange streaks in the sky as the evening breeze blew through my hair. i frowned and felt a chill run through my body. something was seriously off about today.

taehyung laced his fingers through me and i jumped a bit. "are you okay?" he asked. as usual, i had to take a moment to calm myself. taehyung and i had a thing. i was attracted to one another, i talked constantly, and i'd had a deep concern for one another for almost a year. i was practically dating already. unfortunately, both of us was horribly shy in regards to my relationship status. neither of me could bring myself to talk about it and make it official.

occasionally i would hold hands and flirt but that was as far as it went. jealousy wasn't really a problem either, being that the two of us were so wrapped up in each other. "i don't know. i've felt weird all day." i replied, looking back up at the sky. taehyung looked down at my hand and noticed the goosebumps that covered my arms. his eyebrows drew together and he quickly looked back up at my face. he put his opposite hand to my forehead, a look of worry taking over his face.

"are you sick? cold?" he asked, moving to rub my arm. taehyung had a tendency to freak out when i felt ill. he'd almost had a panic attack when he saw me nosebleed three months ago. i looked at him and stopped his hands from rubbing my arms.

"no, i just feel...strange. it's just this gut feeling... i don't know how to explain it." i said.

"maybe we should go back? we can hang out back at the dorm." he offered. he stopped walking but continued holding on to my hand.

"tae, no. it's fine-"

"guys, we should head back. jiho isn't feeling well." taehyung yelled to the boys. they stopped walking and turned around.

"jiho-ssi, are you okay? are you sick?" jin asked.

"i'm fine. let's just go to the park." i replied with a smile. the other 6 boys shrugged and continued walking.

"jiho, i really think we should go home. if you aren't feeling well, you shouldn't ignore it." taehyung said, reluctantly moving forward.

i pulled him along, smiling gently. "it'll be fine. what could happen?" i said, trying to ease his developing stress.

"i would just feel better if we went back home." he said, watching the wind blow my hair.

yoongi led the other boys forward and yelled for us two to hurry. the park was just across this intersection. i'd always felt weird about this road. the hill always seemed too steep to drive on.

taehyung let me pull him forward but he felt more conflicted with each step.

it was almost as if he was beginning to feel how i was feeling. a sense of nervousness flooded within him and he couldn't find a reason for it.

it was as if his stomach was forming into a tight, stubborn knot. he stopped walking, a hand moving over his chest. his heart was pounding, his body instinctively warning him to reevaluate his surroundings.

i noticed that he'd stopped walking and looked at him. taehyung saw that the traffic light was still red and he began moving again, not wanting to get caught by the light. even though there was no one out here, he felt obligated to cross the street before the light turned green.

he tightened his hand around me as me started across the street.

he heard it before he saw it. there was a loud booming or popping sound, followed by loud screeching. at the top of the hill, a driver's tire had blown out and he, without thinking, quickly slammed on brakes.

the boys watched helplessly from across the street as the story unfolded. the man lost control of the car and it quickly soared in my direction, turning over and over as it moved down the hill.
