"Are you sure you want to do this M'gann?" Wally asked. M'gann nodded. She wanted to save her friends life.. She needed to save her friends life.
"Okay. Well, just one thing, if you do help her, make sure nothing too drastic happens. That could put her into mental shock, and she could go into a real coma," Dinah said. M'gann and Wally gulped. This may be a life or death situation.
"Save me wife," Wally said to M'gann.
"We need to leave her in peace," Dinah said. The others nodded. Wally took one last longing look at Artemis, before disappearing with the rest of the team.
M'gann looked at Artemis, determined to help her. Sitting down, M'gann placed her hands on Artemis's temples and focused.
"M'gann?" Artemis said in her mind. M'gann was in. Was it a mess in her mind. Thoughts.... Scattered everywhere. Of the twins, Wally, her friends, her team.... And her father.....
"Artemis, I'm here to help you," M'gann said. Artemis sadly looked around.
"No one... No one can help me..."
"Yes, I can. I'm here to get the poison out of you. I'm here to wake you up.... To get you back with your family."
"My family? You mean Wally and the twins? The twins... They hate me...."
"No, no they don't. Remember Artemis...."
"I-I can't..."
'I'm wasting too much time here. I need to get to her lungs."
"Artemis, listen to me. You have to get this poison out of you."
"How?"
"Focus. I'm going to go see what's going on in it," M'gann said and Artemis nodded. M'gann swam to Artemis's lungs. She looked to see little robots working on something inside Artemis. Not in her lungs, but in her stomach. It looked like... A bomb? Wait, no, it looked like a mind-control device. Or in this case... A body control device? She had to tell the others, but she couldn't leave Artemis like this. There was no way Artemis could fight this on her own.
"Hey!" M'gann got the robots attention and swam towards her , shooting. She couldn't risk them hitting Artemis. Making a force bubble to protect Artemis, M'gann fought off the bots. "That wasn't too hard. Now I just need to-" M'gann heard something behind her and turned to see more robots shooting at her. "Great."
"M'gann?" Artemis appeared again.
"Artemis, listen to me. These bots are here to destroy you. You need to help fight them."
"How?"
"I-I don't know."
Artemis hit one of the bots, sending it flying into the others. M'gann stared at her.
"What?"
"Um.... How'd you do that?"
"I don't know. I just hit them."
"Right..."
"Well, what are you waiting for? Are you going to finish fighting them and save me or not?"
That was the Artemis M'gann knew. She smiled as the they fought the rest of the robots.
"Now, we just need to shut down the device."
"That, might be a problem...." Artemis said.
