As I was on another break shift, I got a call from Chief Boden:

C: "Hi Chief! How's it going?"

B: "Hey Caroline. I have a question, more of an opportunity for you."

C: "Of course! What is it?"

B: "The crew and I talked about it. How would you like to ride along with and coming on rescued with us tomorrow?"

C: "That sounds awesome! I will talk to Dr. Charles about this."

B: "Sounds great! See you then!"

C: "Thank you!"

B: "No problem."

*hangs up*

I immediately told Dr. Charles about what Chief Boden said and he approved. I thanked him and went back to work.

After my night shift was over, I got a call from Hermann. He invited me to hang out at Molly's with 51 and I accepted and headed straight there. When I arrived, I was greeted by 51 and was offered a margarita. "Thank y'all so much! I look forward to spending the day and rescuing people with y'all tomorrow." I said. "You're welcome." Boden replied. We then just had a good time. An hour later, I carefully drove home. Early the next morning, I got up and got ready to go to 51. Dawson lended me an extra uniform before I went home last night.  An hour later, I arrived and from Severide, got a tour of the firehouse. All of a sudden, the PA system went off, "Truck 81, Ambulance 61, house fire at...." I gasped as I heard my dad's address. I quickly got into my gear and got into the passenger seat of Dawson's ambulance. As we were driving there, I prayed that it wasn't my dad's house. "Are you ok?" Dawson asked, noticing that I was trembling a little. "I'm praying it's not my dad's house." I replied, trying to compose myself. Then, we arrived and immediately prepared the gurney and gear. Another ambulance from a neighboring firehouse arrived and as I watched the firefighters go into the house to find any victims and extinguish the flames. I looked and though I was relieved that it wasn't my dad's house, I was concerned about that house and neighboring houses. I heard and saw Casey and Severide carrying a victim to our ambulance and we immediately treated him for minor burns and smoke inhalation. In the midst of the commotion, I heard a familiar voice in the fire call my name. I recognized it immediately and rushed into the house to find him. Casey rushed in after me, "What the hell are you doing?!" He yelled as I searched for my dad. I yelled back, "My dad is in here!" "You don't have any protective gear on!" "I know, but I need to do what I have to do!" Then, I found my dad. "Oh my god! Dad!" I cried out as Casey and I rushed to help him and get him out of there, which we successfully did. The other ambulance crew helped us. My dad had first degree burns on his face, arms, and legs, and though he was conscious, he was immediately treated for smoke inhalation as well and rushed to the hospital. I stood in shock. "Are you alright?" Severide asked. I shook my head. "Hermann! We need help over here! Caroline, hang in there.." I muttered, "Arson....I smelled arson." An oxygen mask was placed on my face and Severide helped me into the fire truck to rush me to the hospital
