Living On A Prayer

I woke up in my hospital room and heard Voight, Olinsky, and Mr. Sonoma yelling at each other and then heard handcuffs. Olinsky read the Miranda Rights to Mr. Sonoma after Voight told him that he would be arrested for attempted murder and domestic violence. Afterwards, Olinsky and another officer lead Mr. Sonoma off while Mrs. Sonoma stayed with Tara. Just as I was going to drift off again, Voight knocked on my door. "Come in." I said. Then, I pushed a button to sit my bed up a bit. "What a doozy. Poor girl and her mother can't catch a break from that scumbag til now." I said. "Yeah. But, I can tell that he and Tyler will share time in prison." We laughed and I said, "Yeah."

As Voight and I walked and talked around the hospital, Dr. Halstead came up to us with a concerned look on his face. "What happened?" I asked. "Tara has taken a turn for the worse. It's only a matter of time..." Dr. Halstead explained until I said, "I- I get it. Oh no." Then we rushed to Tara's room and monitored her. There was a lot of monitoring, crying, uncertainty, and praying. Five hours later, Tara began to show more and more signs of life. Mrs. Sonoma, the staff, and I prayed aloud and silently for Tara and all of our patients. By God's grace, ten minutes later...which felt like an eternity, Tara woke up and we took the tube out of her throat and replaced it with an oxygen mask. We kept monitoring her, taking care of her, and talking with her until it was time for her and her mother to go home. They looked afraid because of the horrid memories they had there...until I told them that the staff and I pitched in and bought and decorated a small, but nice apartment for them. They were ecstatic about that and about starting a new life. After the discharge papers were signed, new clothes were put on Tara(which I brought from home) and the IVs were out, Halstead, Latham, and Reese took them to their new home.
