The Forbidden Fruit ( Nalu )

.Chapter two.

People were staring at me because I began to cry.They all started whispering and gossiping.
But none of that mattered at that moment. The only thing I could notice was him.

Natsu's eyes were staring deeply into mine and I didn't know what to do.
I was a mess.
All I could do was cry.

"Lucy! Lucy! What's wrong!?" My best friend panicked.

Levy has never met Natsu because we only met last year,  but she has seen enough pictures and heard enough about him to know who he was.
So to answer Levy I just pointed my finger towards him. 

Levy followed the direction of my finger and her eyes widened.

"That's your brother isn't it!?"

I nodded my head.

"Lucy what are you doing! You can't just stand here crying! Go over to him!" She shouted while giving me a little push on the back. "I will clear a path! I am in the student council after all. People will listen to me!"

I looked over my shoulder to my best friend and smiled. "Thank you Levy.

Once Levy began to clear all the people who had gathered around, I began to run towards Natsu, ignoring all the weird looks and glares I was getting.

I ran like my life depended on it, and before I knew it I jumped into my dear brother's arms.

"Natsu!!" I sobbed digging my head into his chest and clinging on to him.

"Luce...." He whispered. He began to pat my head soothingly like how he used to do when I was a child.
"I missed you so much..."

"I-I missed you too!!" I stuttered, struggling to get the words out of my mouth.

We stood there embracing for what seemed like an eternity and then Natsu pulled away after he realised all the attention we were attracting. So he quickly grabbed hold of my hand and started walking away from the school at a fast pace.
I clutched onto his hand with my own and with the other I wiped away my tears.
Natsu didn't stop walking until we were out of complete view of the school.
and brought me to a small park and we sat under a beautiful sakura tree.

"Luce, when are you going to stop crying?" Natsu chuckled, using a hand to wipe the last of my tears away.

"I can't help it...." I started. "It's just..just been so long...I felt so lonely, and now I'm not sure if this is real or not...."

Natsu didn't say anything. He just pulled me into another warm hug.

"This is real Lucy, and I know how you feel, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't come to see you sooner...." He said with a shaky voice.

"Natsu?"

"Hm?"

"What happened the last few years? How have you and Father been? What have you been doing?" I asked quickly.

I heard Natsu chuckle.
"Not all at once Luce."

By now Natsu had pulled away from our embrace and he looked me in the eyes.

"One question at a time. You also have a lot to fill me in on!"

I smiled. "Tell me about everything that has happened these last few years. I want to know everything."

Natsu sighed. Then began to tell his story.

"Four years ago after the divorce,  father and I moved overseas to America. I went to school and learnt English,  and got a job to earn money so I could come back here. Nothing much else really happened,  I didn't even bother to make friends because I knew that I was going to come back here." Natsu told me.
"Then about 2 months ago dad ran off and married some woman and left me at home alone by myself. And it became even more boring,  I didn't know what to do with myself so I just kept working until I made plenty of money so I could move back here. That's pretty much it. "

"Natsu....... Dad went missing?"

"Yeah. Haven't heard from him since. But honestly it doesn't really bother me. We never really spoke once we moved anyway.  I'm just glad to be back here with you." He said as he showed me a big toothy grin.

I was sad after hearing about dad, and even though Natsu claims it doesn't bother him i knew it did. I can just feel it.  

"Now it's your turn Luce." He said, putting his arms behind his head and leaning back against the tree. I knew he was trying to change the subject....So I better not pursue the subject any further. 

Natsu started listening to me speak intently and closed his eyes as if he were about to imagine the past four years I had without him. 

"Well there isn't much to tell. Mum remarried about a year ago to a man named Jude Heartfilia, and now he lives with us. And I have just been attending school as usual. My life hasn't been very exciting." I told him. "But now that you're back I'm sure everything will become much more exciting!"

Natsu grinned. "Yeah, I feel the same way."

At that moment the light of the sunset began to shine through the leaves of the sakura tree and illuminated Natsu. It made Natsu seem as if he were glowing, like he was an angel. My Guardian angel who was send to be by my side to protect me forever.

I continued to stare at Natsu in awe when Natsu opened his eyes and turned his head to face me.

"What is it Luce? What are you looking at?" He asked me, sounding genuinely curious.

I felt my heart beat faster and it confused me for a moment.

"I'm just looking at you." I told him truthfully.

"At me? Why?" He asked while showing a smile.

"Because I want to remember this image forever. The moment when I finally reunited with my big brother." I told him shyly.

Natsu stared at me wide eyed for a moment before looking away. "I hope you don't go saying things like that to other people." He murmured.

"What was that?" I asked him, not hearing what he said.

"I-it's nothing..." He stuttered before looking up into the sky. "It's starting to get dark now, Let me send you back home."

I looked up at the sky realising that it had began to get dark. But I don't want to leave Natsu just yet.

"But....-" I began.

"No buts Luce!" Natsu interrupted. Standing up he extended his right hand out to me and I gladly accepted.
He quickly pulled me to my feet and let go of my hand, to my dismay.

"Come on then." He said started to walk.

I walked beside him silently, every now and then stealing glances.

"You've gotten tall Natsu." I say.

"Well that's to be expected. I am older after all." He said arrogantly.

"Only by an hour!!!!" I shout causing Natsu to laugh.

"But I'm still older."

It didn't take long to get back home.
As Natsu and I stood outside the front door I looked up at him.

"Natsu where do you live?" I asked.

Natsu started to chuckle when mother answered the door.

"Welcome back home you two!" She said. A huge smile was plastered to her face.

"I'm so glad that your living with us again Natsu!" Mum exclaimed.

"What!?" I look up at Natsu who was smiling down at me.

"This is where I live Lucy. Now you're stuck with me Forever!"
