The Forbidden Fruit ( Nalu )

"I will make sure that you won't have to marry this guy. All I want is for you to be happy. After all you are my-.....my little sister........" 

Natsu's Pov 

'Sister'
I never thought that one word could hurt so much. My feelings for Lucy are wrong, I know that, but It's no use trying to stop my them anymore. They just keep growing, and growing, and growing. I just don't know what to do anymore. Every time she touches me, speaks to me, looks at me, even when I think about her It hurts. It hurts because I know that no matter how much I love her I can't do anything about it. Not a single thing....

"Natsu. Mother and Jude are going to be really mad when we go back home. You're going to get into a lot of trouble. Why do you always have to stick up for me and bring trouble to yourself!? It's just not fair! It doesn't make me feel happy!" Lucy said sadly.

"Lucy, It doesn't matter if they are mad at me and try to punish me. Like I said before the only thing that matters to me is your happiness. I will take any punishment they throw at me as long as it means you don't have to do something you're uncomfortable with" I truthfully said.

"I don't understand why you go so far for me Natsu......." Lucy said with pink cheeks.

"It's because I love you Luce...." 

Lucy Looked up at me wide eyed then smiled softly, before pulling me into a warm sweet hug. "I love you too Natsu. I'm so glad you're my brother." 

ouch..... That hurt more then I thought it would. I already knew that was how she would take my words, but I didn't expect to feel this much pain. It's excruciating...

Lucy's Pov

"It's because I love you Luce...." 

For a moment after Natsu said those words I felt the world around me dance. This feeling? What is it? And why does it keep seeming to get stronger? It's just so confusing....

"I love you too Natsu. I'm so glad you're my brother." i replied. But for some reason a part of me didn't seem to believe that. Why wouldn't I be glad that Natsu was my brother? He is the most perfect person I know, so why do the words I speak make me feel so sad?

"Well isn't this touching?" A voice said, causing Natsu and I to both jump apart. 

I looked over to where the voice came from and saw my supposedly future husband.

"Gray?" 

"I have some good news for you Lucy." He announced.

I felt Natsu stiffen beside me. "What is this 'Good news'?" He asked angrily.

Gray smiled. "You'll be happy to know that I convinced both of our families to call off the engagement." 

"What!? Why? How?" I asked.

"Well it's not like I wanted to get married either. So once Natsu lost it and ran out with you it made it pretty easy for me to convince my father and Jude to cancel it. But they were both pretty pissed. So you owe me." 

"Thank you! Thank you so much!!!" I exclaimed while jumping up and hugging the boy.

"Don't thank me yet. Didn't I tell you that you owed me?" He chuckled. 

"Yep, alright, thanks. Let's go Lucy." Natsu said pulling me off of Gray.

"Ok!" I smiled. "Thanks again Gray! See you around!" I waved.

"Tsk, You sound as if you want to see him again!" Natsu said.

Do I sense jealousy!? 

I stopped walking and stepped in front of Natsu. "What's wrong Natsu, are you jealous!?" I smirked.

"Wha-, NO WAY! Why would I be jealous!" Natsu exclaimed.

"Because, you don't want your cute little sister to grow up and get a boyfriend!" I teased.

"T-thats, ridiculous." Natsu said avoiding eye contact.

BINGO!

I started giggling. "Don't worry big brother! I won't be getting a boyfriend any time soon, So you don't have to worry!"

"tsk. Shut up!" Natsu said while pushing me into a bush we were passing.

"NATSU!" I fumed. 

"PFFFT!!!! You should see how you look!!!!" Natsu laughed.

"IDIOT!"

When we arrived back at home Natsu was in for hell.

"NATSU!" Jude shouted."It is all your fault that my plan failed! I could have made a huge profit in my business if it wasn't for you!"

"So you wanted to destroy Lucy's life so you could improve your business!!? What kind of sick joke is that!?" Natsu started.

"If Lucy and Silvers son got married I would have been helping Lucy! She would never of had to work, she could have lived in luxury! But you destroyed Lucy's chance of happiness!" 

"Don't try to turn this on me! You don't care about Lucy's well being! All you care about money!? I know Lucy! She definitely wouldn't marry someone for money! Lucy isn't a cheap girl Jude! That wouldn't make her happy!" Natsu yelled.

"ENOUGH OF THIS!!!" Mother cried. "I don't want to hear another word about this! It's over and past!"

"Layla, this has nothing to do with you!" Jude told her.

"Of course it does! If it involves my children then it involves me! You are not their father so you can't decide what happens to them!" 

Jude was speechless. He knew mother was right.

"Now everybody go get ready for bed. I think we all need to calm down a bit."

Layla Heartfilia's Pov

This day has been overly stressful. Jude didn't even tell me about this engagement he organised for Lucy, but i am glad that it isn't happening in the end. 

"Layla." My husband started as he walked into our bedroom.

"What is it Jude?" I asked angrily.

"I have some concerns about Natsu." 

"About Natsu? What concerns? If it is about how he acted today then I'm not going to say he did anything wrong. He was just sticking up for his sister." I said.

"Actually it is about how he acted today." he began. "But not in the way you might be thinking, it's even worse then that. It's about Natsu's true feelings for his sister.

"W-what do you mean?" I asked, starting to worry.

"Layla, the way Natsu acts when he is with Lucy is that of a boy in love." 

What? No that's stupid.  "Jude that's ridiculous! They are siblings! there is no way Natsu would be in love with Lucy. They have always had a very good sibling relationship...."

"Think about it Layla, Those two were separated for four years. The last time they were together they were still children right? So when Natsu came back he would have seen a fully developed woman, I'm sure that must have been quite a shock for him." 

"Jude that's enough! Enough of this disgusting talk! There is absolutely no way that Natsu would feel that way. Now I don't want to hear another word of this!" I shouted. Jude is just paranoid.....There is no way that my son would be in love with sister.
