Lydia continued to surprise Elijah.

The morning after her incident with almost being killed by Klaus, Lydia decided to cook breakfast.

Her hair was tied in a messy bun, while one of Elijah's shirts covered her frame.

"Something smells good." Elijah's voice rang out through the kitchen, as Lydia placed the two pancakes onto a plate, and turned around towards the counter.

"That'll be these." She smiled at him, as she set a fork by the plate. Since she wasn't too hungry, she made Elijah breakfast instead.

"I was talking about you, but these look delicious." Elijah smiled as he took the plate.

"You know how to impress, Mikaelson." Lydia smiled, as she leant against the counter.

"And you know how to surprise, Martin." Elijah retorted, as he had already finished one pancake.

"What can I say? I try." She smiledletti g the frying pan sink into the bubbly water that filled the sink.

"Those were good, but I think I want something more delicious." Elijah said, setting the plate by the sink.

He walked up behind Lydia, and wrapped his arms around her, his head buried in her neck, taking in her scent. His eyes caught sight of the fading 'love bites' scattered across her neck underneath the shirt.

"Sorry Elijah, but since I got up quite early, I'm heading back to bed." Lydia said as she attempted to unravel his arms from her waist.

"We don't have to go to sleep, you know?" Elijah teased, as he reluctantly let go.

"Maybe later." She smiled, before heading out of the kitchen towards the stairs.

"You are like a puppy when she's around." Klaus stated, appearing in the kitchen window.

"Well, she keeps me sane." Elijah straightened himself out, as he was currently not wanting to be in the same room as his brother until he apologised for his actions and swore to never touch Lydia. Ever again.

"Just like Cammie would keep you sane. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go out for a while. You dare touch her and I'll make sure that you won't see your precious Cammie again." Elijah threatened, before leaving the house.

Knowing Elijah was leaving, Lydia locked her bedroom door, in no mood to talk to Klaus.

She made her way back to the bed, and crawled under the warm covers, missing Elijah already. The small girl quietly drifted off into a peaceful sleep, knowing Klaus wouldn't get in.
