Y/N'S POV

The whole time we talked about what it was like to play overseas and whatnot. Some of the girls shared their stories on how they got a chance to play here, as others were here for money opportunities. I don't think anyone else was here for the WNBA or anything like that, just mostly for training and money.

I could hear commotion outside of the restaurant but I didn't bother to check or even turn around. We hung out until about one in the morning, or really until the staff had to kick us out of the restaurant so they could close it. On my way out, I ordered another drink to have on the way back to my room. Everyone dispersed on different floors leaving me alone in the elevator. I headed to my room and checked for my room key but I couldn't find it. I kept it in my wallet but I didn't have that either, meaning I must have left it at the bar. I shrugged to myself and headed back downstairs.

As I turned the corner, a body ran into mine causing me to hold my drink up so it wouldn't spill. I looked at the culprit, a humorless chuckle leaving my lips as I nodded a couple times. I was pretty much expecting this. "Lauren." I muttered.

LAUREN'S POV

Y/N took a swig of her drink, holding it up to me as she was finished. She held it up as a way to excuse herself before she walked around me. I was completely frozen in my spot, too shocked to move. I had heard all about the basketball star but I never would've guessed she would be playing overseas. Then again she did mention it but still, I didn't think I would've seen her so soon. I finally managed to wake up from my daze as I chased after the taller girl, catching up to her muscular frame. "Y/N!" I called out loudly.

Pretty much as I expected the taller girl didn't stop and she didn't falter in her step. I followed her back into the lobby where she had picked up her wallet from the bartender, thanking him. All the while I tried calling out her name but she didn't budge. "Y/N please stop." I felt like crying honestly. I was finally spared a glance from the younger girl but she didn't stop. Instead I followed her back upstairs until we came to a stop in front of her room to where she tried opening it. I held the door open as she tried to close it causing her to sigh.

"What do you want, Lauren?" She asked bitterly. I wrung out my hands in front of me, trying to come up with something to say but I was coming to a blank. My mouth opened and closed several times before I could even get anything out. I could tell that Y/N was losing her patience quickly so I blurted out the next thing that popped into my head.

"I love you. I still do." I cringed afterwards. Y/N raised both eyebrows but didn't comment. There was still so much I wanted to say but it was as if my body wouldn't let me spit it out. The air around us became very awkward and soon enough Y/N sighed. I searched her eyes for any possible emotion but I came up with nothing. By now I was desperate for anything from the younger girl.

"Alright, goodnight Lauren." Before I had the chance to do anything else the door was shut in my face. I wanted to pound on the door and demand answers but I knew it wouldn't end well for either one of us. Instead I just softly leaned my forehead against the door, a tear slipping out of my eye. Why did this girl have to be so stubborn. After a while I had figured that Y/N went to bed and I didn't want anybody to see me stalking my ex-girlfriend's room so late at night so I thought it'd be best to leave.

I cleared my throat quietly. "Please just let me explain, I need to make this right. I know I could if you would just let me. I love you." I whispered to myself before wiping my eyes and walking away from Y/N's room. I took one last glance at the door before turning the corner to head back into the elevator. After pressing the top floor I waited until the elevator stopped moving so that I could make my way to my own room, until I remembered I was rooming with Ally. I mentally cursed before walking inside, the room already cracked open from the stopper on top of the door. God I wish Ally was already asleep.
