Plop.
"Yes!" you exhaled under your breath cautiously as to not make any unnecessary noises. You could barely contain your excitement.
You were unbelievable lucky, you didn't think it was this easy to trick Haruka. Once he left the room and started to lock it, the moment he was about to pull out the key, you screamed he should hurry up and make you something to eat or you are going to bang your head on the wall until you die.
He was quite dumb to fall for that and actually left the key in the lock. Who would be so gullible to someone's sudden mood change?
Slowly you pulled the paper under the door from the other side to your side. You were lucky again that the door gap was big enough to fit the key through. With a swift motion you picked the key up and slid the paper behind you so it would be hidden under the bed, even though this was unnecessary because you were free.
You tried not to let your happiness overcome you and calmly as possible with shaky fingers you put the key into the lock and opened the door. For the first time in days, weeks probably, you could see another sight than the room you were locked in. It felt like a fresh breeze greeted you as soon as the door sprang open and you exhaled the new air together with your achieved freedom.
It was actually pretty easy to escape, you thought. Now the problem is how I get out of the house without being caught.
Despite being on the second floor you could hear Haruka rustling below in the kitchen. So, you had a few options. First was descending down the wooden stairs and escape through the front door. That would guide you past the kitchen where Haruka was, and the living room, where that person probably was. It was too risky, so you crossed that out.
Option B would be going down the stairs and avoid the area where both of them were and search for another room to escape out of the window but that was risky too. Mainly because going down the stairs would be too noisy and second there was always a high possibility that even if they didn't notice you coming down (because the noise Haruka makes while cooking) you could still run into them.
So, that left you with only one choice: Find another room on the second floor and escape through a window. Although this was risky too because first it was too high, we are talking about being 3 floors above the ground( groundfloor, 1st floor, 2nd floor) and the other point was to find the right room to escape from which wasn't in the viewpoint of the kitchen and the living room.
The room you were held in was currently on the west side, while the kitchen was in the north and the living room in the south, meaning you should find a room on the west side or the side where the entrance was.
Since the only room on the south side, right from where you were standing at the moment, was locked, you had no other choice but to try a room next to yours. Your room was the farthest away from the north (the kitchen), next to it (on the left side) were two other rooms.
You'd take your chances with the middle room. Upon making up your mind, you hurried back to the room you were captivated in and closed the bathroom door while leaving on the shower ((water,I know )), took the key and locked the room from the outside, that would make them think you were currently showering, in case any of them decided to give you a quick visit.
Content with your preparation you finally made your way to the middle door. Quietly you pushed down the door handle and entered.
"Wha-" you could stop yourself just in time before you started to scream.
WHAT? WHAT THE HELL IS THIS, you panicked.
_______________
"What the hell? I thought you could drive. You are an adult aren't you?"
"Eh? Aren't you one too, Haruharu?"
"I told you not to call me that already," Haruki distorts his face in annoyance while Midori stood next to him with a sly smile that didn't fit the situation at all.
Both of them stood in front of the car they just rented for a few hundred, only to realise that neither of them can drive. Haruki was really mad at Midori, he didn't understand why (F/N) would like him.
Haruki didn't know if Midori was either playing/ cunning or was just plain stupid. Whatever it was, he was always wearing a smile which made it impossible for anyone to read his mind.
"Now, now. Haruharu no need to make that angry face," Midori smiled.
"Then please tell me how we are supposed to get somewhere when we can't drive. Why did you agree to rent a car when you knew you can't drive?"
"I thought you could."
"What on earth did I say that made you think so?"
That guy is unbelievable, Haruki sighed, Midori only shrugged.
"Then how are we going to get to where (F/N) is?"
"By bike?"
"By bike?? You think we can get to another city by bike which would take almost an hour by train?"
"Then why don't we take the train?"
"Because today is the train strike, didn't we discuss it?"
"I see."
"Midori-san are you even serious about this? Do you even care for her?"
Midori smile suddenly frowned as he moved closer towards Haruki until their faces were only inches apart.
"I am and I do."
But their argument wasn't over by far and it continued for a long time.
____________
"What? What the hell is this? Are they serious?" you hissed out.
Did they plan this far ahead?
You desperately looked into the other rooms.
Same. Same. Same. Again same.
No, it couldn't be true. They couldn't be... Don't tell me, they believed that I would and so...
You were about to lose it as you opened the last door and saw again that the windows in the room were sealed the same way as the windows in the room you were captured in. What were you going to do now?
All of your resolve...just faded away like that.
