We decided that Sarah would move in within the weekend and said our goodbyes, hoping tomorrow would turn out alright.
FLASHBACK
"She's disgusting... why's he dating her again?" The beautiful brunette whispered to the blonde girl with a pony tail beside her.
"Maybe he's just having one of those days, you know."
The brunette rolled her eyes. "He's been having one of those days for weeks, stupid."
The blonde shrugged and started inspecting her nails. "Then maybe he's having one of those months."
The brunette scoffed, "Maybe he's just being delirious."
Barely paying attention to the other girl, the blonde just nodded and huffed. "Why is it so boring?"
The brunette shook her head. "We'll be late for practice. Let's go."
The blonde sighed and dropped her hands. "Okay."
I watched as they walked towards the gym for their cheerleading practice. I looked down and thought about what they would think about my outfit. Everyday I dressed how I would feel and today, I felt simple. I was wearing my white tennis shoes, denim shorts and a plain black, cropped shirt.
I sighed. Why was I even thinking about their opinion? I should just not care about what other people-
"Sarah," his deep, masculine voice broke me out of my thoughts.
Within seconds, his arm snaked its way around my waist. He leaned down and inhaled deeply when his nose touched my hair. "Hmm, you smell good."
My cheeks heated up and tried getting out of his grasp but ended up failing miserably.
Garrett chuckled at my attempt and pulled me closer. This time he turned me around and kissed my lips gently. I closed my eyes and smiled. This... this was how it was supposed to be.
END OF FLASHBACK
I trudged down the hallways in a trance. Students were giving me curious looks from how I was acting. I groaned when I saw him leaning against the doorway of my office talking to a very slutty looking woman in shorts that could've been mistaken as underwear and a v-neck shirt that had more than half of her boobs popping out. Whatever happened to proper decorum along the hallways?
I was standing a few feet away and paused when I saw the woman press her gifted chest on his arm, her hands finding their way to his um, yeah... I shifted on my feet uncomfortably. Where the hell was Principal Myers when you needed her?
I took a deep breath, walked towards them stiffly and cleared my throat.
The skimpy woman looked at me and raised a perfect eyebrow, her hands now on Garrett's wrist. "What's your problem?"
Was this chick planning on starting a war with me? I shifted my gaze to Garrett and saw him giving me an amused smile. I rolled my eyes and brought my attention back to the slut. This was going to be fun. "Excuse me, but I think there's a pole right by the entrance. You might want to try that out," I suggested slowly pointing my finger at her while my other hand was on my waist.
Fits of laughter surrounded me and that was the time when I just started to notice the group of students watching the exchange. I smiled at her victoriously.
The slut's face turned red with rage and embarrassment and she turned dramatically before making a big exit of parting the students like the red sea, Garrett hot on her trail. Before following the woman, Garrett spared me a glance of curiosity.
Was he really that dumb to waste his time on whores?
"Nice one Ms. Nickelsen!" A good looking boy hollered good-naturedly.
"Yeah, that was so cool," the girl beside him giggled.
A couple more positive comments came from the small crowd and I gave them a big grin. "Tell Anderson that if he does that again in front of the student body, I will report him to the Head and chop his balls off."
The teenagers erupted with laughter and began dispersing.
I shook my head, smiling as I opened the door to my office.
Maybe I was wrong about high school.
