Everyone's eyes dart to Chandler. Everybody knows that Chandler is dating Rachel, no one even knows WHO I am! His face turns a little red, and the girls pinning me to the lockers let go. As they slowly move away from me, Chandler runs up to me. After he asks if I'm ok, he hugs me in front of everyone. The girls who attacked me all looked infuriated, embarrassed, and jealous. After we break away from our hug, he walks me to homeroom, but before I get into my classroom, he stops me.
"Thanks" I say sheepishly, and he smiles. He doesn't say anything, but instead takes my hand and puts a note onto my palm. He closes my fingers around the slip of paper and walks away.

Throughout the entire day, I agree not to open the note until I get home. The urge to open it burns, but I resist.

At the end of the school day, me and Caroline walk home together. I spill out everything that happened this morning. About him driving me to school, the girls fighting me, him calling me his girlfriend, and the note. She takes all the news like it's the most shocking thing she's ever heard. When we get to my house, we say goodbye and she continues walking until she gets home. After I get inside, I rush upstairs into my room and pull out the note. I hold it in my hand, just wondering what could be written inside. Finally, it gets to painful to wait any longer and I begin to unfold it. Inside, it's not what I expected really. I honestly don't know what I expected. I read the words in my head over and over again, just to make sure I haven't read anything wrong. But I'm sure I've read it right.
All that it says is,
"I love you Eliza."
