I raised a sceptical eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" I asked Ryder, who was chewing on his lip nervously.
"Well you see, it was after the whole airport incident and you know how Ashlin always follows me around and--"
"You slept with Ashlin?!" I exclaimed furiously, ripping my hands out of his.
"What? No!" Ryder yelled. "I would never let it go that far!"
"How far did it go?" I challenged, narrowing my eyes at him and crossing my arms over my chest.
"Well...," he said and scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Ryder," I warned impatiently.
"Okay we were in bed but I promise that nothing happened. I stopped it before it would go too far."
"Before it would go to far?!" I exclaimed. "You don't think that kissing her is already too far?!"
"I'm sorry! But....I was mad and hurt and didn't know what to do..." he tried to apologise.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes at his lame attempt to make him the innocent one here.
"Kennedy," he said and took one of my hands in his again. "I am so sorry. If I would have known everything I would have never even spared a glance at Ashlin. I would never purposely hurt you," he finished in a soft voice.
I watched him with a raised eyebrow, still skeptical.
"You have to believe me." He cupped the side of my face with his other hand. "I know that this would have never happened if I had just listened. And for that I am so sorry."
I stayed still, not knowing what to believe or think.
I believed that he was telling the truth. But it's not like I just ran off and looked for someone to sleep with. And yes, I know Ashlin could be a handful but that wasn't a good enough excuse.
Suddenly, there was a click and I heard the door open behind me.
Ryder looked over my head to see who was walking through the door.
"Oh, sorry," I heard Blake's voice say. "You guys look busy. I'll come back later. Just please stay off of my bed, okay?"
"No need," I said and stepped away from Ryder with a blank look on my face before turning around. "I was just leaving," I said to Blake before walking out of their room and letting the door fall shut loudly behind me.
I sighed and ran a hand down my face as I walked down the hall to my room.
I unlocked the door and walked into my room, heading straight for my bed and falling onto it face first. I let out a frustrated groan, annoyed that it all had to be so complicated.
"You look like you could need an anger management class," a voice said.
I looked up and saw Ashlin sitting on her bed with a green face mask over her face while filing her nails. Her short pink robe and pink towel on her head told me that she had just taken a shower.
I had totally forgot that I was rooming with her.
I let out another frustrated groan.
"And you look like you need a new face," I snapped at her before walking to my suitcase to get some clothes to sleep in. "And a new attitude."
I heard her scoff behind me but she stayed silent, now wanting to edge me on any further.
This was going to be a long week.
