Chapter 14

Enid ran down the halls of TrevorProject without noticing the beauty of it. The thoughts of Sebastian with genocide at hand consumed her mind and deteriorated her personal admonitions. Niccola went with her even though it was time for his library shift. Feeling in blame for Niccola’s salary cut, Enid kept on apologizing until they reached a large indoor fountain in graphite.

“Sebastian!” she called her friend who frantically threw anything at random trajectories.

Sebastian grabbed mugs that crashed anywhere. Papers flung on mid-air. Pens glided down the tiles. He launched his body to tackle a man with red curls. Enid did not wait for those scarlet strands to meet its vermillion mother so she quickly ran to aid Sebastian.

“Get off!” he scolded her and pushed Enid that left her clashing onto the white tiles.

“Sebastian, stop!” she yelled and tried to get up again before her friend raised his arm. Unfortunately, she slipped and fell for herself. “Wait!” she screamed as Sebastian finally released his wrath. However, canard it was, Sebastian missed his target and drastically came in contact with the white tiles.

“See!” Enid blamed him for the blood on his fist. He shrieked and took his body off the pinned boy on the floor. “I’m sorry,” Enid apologized and raced after Sebastian. “Hey!” She ran after him until they reached the volunteer department.

           “Sebastian!”

“Shut up!” he fired after wiping the blood off of his lips. “You don’t know anything!”

“Of course I do!” Enid recoiled. “We know all that drunk nights you had and stupid mumblings of how you love your boyfriend so don’t you go hovering a homicide at your workplace! You should find a friend here and not go trashing a random person’s sanity!”

“Well close that shy mouth of yours because that demon is not just some random person, Enid Lerwick. He is just Lacey Asshole from the Douchebag kingdom who gave me this fucking AIDS and because of that, I get to have these damn spasms every single night of my damn entire life!”

No… Enid was stunned. The whole room was stunned. Sebastian pursed his lips and looked around him. Enid did as well. She saw sympathetic stares but Sebastian saw otherwise. He loathed to be pitied but Enid discreetly forlornly looked at him that way now. Sebastian’s tears glided down his puffy cheekbones.

           “Sebastian I—”

He screamed. He charged toward something behind her and she was sure it was Lacey Asshole that was Sebastian’s subject.

“Wait. No!” she pleaded but Sebastian continued to charge. She followed but ended up slipping in her mary janes. “Stop!”

Sebastian was pure in his words. He wanted to end the life of the curly red haired dude. Enid could not do something. She sprained a leg and caught herself in distress. Candid volunteers helped her to sit on a bench as other male volunteers chased after Sebastian.

She looked at her friend again. Sebastian’s pace slowed down… and slowly, he fell on his knees. He was like a love bird that lost its partner. He chirped away his tears. He knelt on the tiles only illuminated by the sun that streaked from the modernly designed windows. Sebastian wailed.

Enid told the other volunteers she was fine and tried to walk with sprained leg. Her mary janes echoed. They had taken Lacey to the clinic for sure because of bleeding gums but she did not even think the demon could have gone to help Sebastian. It was illogical not negligent.
