Serena's POV
School was another usual, boring day. We have a new project in Evolution class and I got paired up with Ash. Thank Arceus Calem isn't in that class or he would've been steaming. It's only a class project so me and Ash don't have to go to each other's house. We started the project today and Ash was quiet and sad as usual, but I kept getting all warm inside when he weakly smiled at me. I also felt really nervous around him. I'm on my way home from school now and Calem had to stay after school for basketball practice, so I'm all alone. I stopped walking for a second when I heard thumping noises coming from the forest. I looked in that direction and saw nothing, so I decided to investigate. What I saw next, was something I never expected. There was a huge basketball court with what looked like brand new paint and amazing quality rims. But, that wasn't the surprising thing. Who was on the court shocked me the most. It was Ash. And he was playing basketball. From what Calem showed me about basketball, Ash seemed like an amazing player. He didn't even notice me, so I yelled "Ash!"
He turned, and immediately hid the ball behind his back. I said, "What are you doing here?"
"Uhh, just doing homework.." he responded nervously.
"I saw you playing. You're really good! You should try out for the team." I said.
His face turned bright red, for a reason I couldn't tell you and said, "U-uhhh t-thanks Serena."
Suddenly I got really nervous and I don't know why.
"S-so.. you think we'll do g-good on the project?" I said
"Y-yeah.." he responded.
"Alright.. I'm gonna get going.. W-wanna w-walk back h-home with m-me? Our houses a-are close."
"Sure. Let me just get my ball. I'll also think about joining the team, thanks for the suggestion." he said as he smiled brightly.
Wow, what a nice smile... WAIT WHAT!??! Ok, weird thought..
"N-no problem" I said as my face flared up.
I should really think about becoming friends with Ash again. Maybe I could make him the old Ash. The one with raw determination who I used to love..
