I smiled
We got to talking
And your laughter
Your humor...
It was contagious
You met my dad
And my mom
They approved as long as I was happy
Every time you would play a song
A song you loved to sing along to
I couldn't help but smile
Smile and giggle
Because by singing with me there
You showed you were comfortable
You weren't shy
You took my hand in front of your friends
And I gripped your hand in mine
Telling myself not to let go
I smiled so much with you
You saved me from a dark place
When people ask me
"Do you love him still?"
I just nod
I know why you left
I'm just hoping to get you back
In 5 years if I was to run into you
And you asked me
"Do you still love me?"
I'd look at you and say
"I loved you..."
But before you could turn away
I would stop you and add
"I loved you... And I still love you."
