or when a lecture turns to tears turns to lies.
i didn't want to think about what my mother said to me in the car. i just wanted to get out and get to rehearsal.
"have fun!" she said it like she hadn't just lectured me to tears for fifteen minutes. it didn't make sense why i was upset, but i was upset nonetheless. cheeks splotched with red, eyes bright from salty tears, i left the minivan for the stage door.
the first words anyone said to me was, "why are you crying?"
"i'm not," i automatically responded.
"are you okay?" i was asked multiple times.
"yeah, i just have a really bad headache." my head did throb, but it was because of the emotional pain.
liar liar, pants on fire.
