Chapter Three
A Ra's POV
Argh. My head hurts. I feel like I've been hit by a truck then thrown off a bridge near the Han River. This is probably how having a hangover feels like; I wouldn't know how it feels like. I've never drank, I'm allergic to alcohol. Weird allergy, right?
"Miss Kim, are you awake?" a soft, unfamiliar voice was the first thing that I heard when I woke up.
I was expecting to see my room when I opened my eyes, the last thing I expected to see was a hospital room and a nurse tending to me. I looked around the room and realised that there were only two people in the room; the nurse and myself.
"Umm... Excuse me? How long have I been here?" I asked the nurse before she left the room.
"Miss Kim, you've been unconscious for almost 24 hours. You arrived at the hospital around 11p.m. last night," the nursed answered my question. "You can't be discharge yet Miss Kim. Your blood count is still in the unstable range so we must monitor you. You'll be discharged once your condition is stable," the nurse told me right before she left me all alone in the quiet hospital room.
The nurse left, not only leaving me in a quiet hospital room, but she also left me with a lot of questions in my mind. How did I get here? Who brought me here? It's 10 in the morning now; if I was out for almost 24 hours, then why was I only admitted to the hospital at 11 last night? When did I faint exactly? What exactly happened to me?
Knock knock.
The knocking on my room door broke my train of thoughts. "Come in," I said even though I have no idea who was on the other end of the door. I have very little friends in Seoul whom I'm close with and I was pretty sure that my one close friend doesn't know that I was in the hospital.
"Wow, I didn't know you spoke English. I'm impress you sound fluent," a mysterious guy came into my room speaking English.
I've never seen the guy in my life. He was dressed in almost all black. You can hardly see his face since he was wearing a black mask and a baseball cap. He was wearing ripped jeans even though it was freezing outside. I wasn't even outside and I can feel the cold from inside my hospital room.
"Umm... Hi, who exactly are you? I've never seen you before," I continued talking in English out of habit.
The mysterious guy chuckled at my comment and took off his mask and cap. The first thought that I have when I saw his face was 'why does he look familiar? Have I seen him before?'
"Hi, I'm Mark. I'm the guy who sat next to you in the café yesterday and the guy who took you to this hospital," he greeted me, putting his hand out for a handshake.
I shook his hand and said, "Oh, you're that guy that asked me to take care of your seat while you went to take your coffee right?"
"Yup, I'm that same guy," he said that while waving at me.
"Hi, my name's Kim A Ra. Thanks for taking me to the hospital," I thanked him. "You don't have to stand there you know, there's a chair here," I continued while pointing to the chair next to my bed.
He went from standing near the door to sitting next to me in the chair that was placed next to the bed. "So, do you always speak in English?"
*
The once quiet hospital room was filled with voice and laughter for the last hour. Mark and I have been talking for the last hour. We first started talking about my condition now. After that, our conversation were about completely random things.
