Chapter 9

Moments later I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look up and I see Gray and Carly White holding hands and smiling. Oh my God. Of course it's Carly! They have been spending so much time together lately! How did that slipped my mind?!
-Hey guys! 
I say wearing the biggest smile I can and talking in a loud tone so that the rest of the table can see just what is happening. Everyone turned their heads around to see Grayson and his long kept secret.
-Hello guys. This is Carly, we are dating for sometime now and I wanted you to meet her.
Ari is the first to react of course.
-Hi Carly! I'm Ariel, nice to meet you!
She says in an exciting tone as they shake hands with Carly.
-Nice to meet you too!
Says the girl seeming a bit scared of my girlfriend's reaction.
Carly shakes hands with my parents and me and then a server brought them two chairs. When everyone is seated we chat around for a little while longer and then proceed to order our food.
As we wait for our order Ari interviews poor Carly but she doesn't seem to mind. In fact after about five questions she actually seemed to not be that tense.
-How did you two started talking?
-Well, we take art class together and Gray is pretty good at sketching so I asked him to do an animation portrait of me. I was stunned by how good it turned out and I asked him to give me some tips and tricks to get better myself on animated sketches. So we started spending more and more time together sketching one another. A few sessions in he asked me out.
-And I did again after that.
Gray said looking at Carly, smiling.

A few questions after our food was ready and glasses filled with wine, to celebrate my success. Dad got up to make the toast.

-I wanna thank everybody for being here today, with our family, to celebrate my son's leadership. I'm very proud of both of my kids and expect them to do great things in their lives. All I ask is that they take me with them on this success train they are riding and I'll be sure to support them always.
-Thank you dad, that was wonderful!
I say deeply moved by his words.
-Cheers everybody!
Says dad and we all raise our glasses.
