-Ethan come down already! Your breakfast is ready and everyone is waiting for you! We are going to be late!
-I'm coming mum! Just give me a minute!

I grab my bag quickly and run down the stairs. My mum is waiting at the bottom of the staircase with her hands crossed to her chest.

-You know you do this every single day causing everyone in this house, including that poor girl Ariel, to be late?
-I'm sorry mum. It won't happen again.

I say and leave a kiss at the top of her head on my way to the kitchen.

-That's what you tell me every day!
-I know!

I enter the spacious room. My brother, my dad and Ariel are sitting at the kitchen table at the usual seats. I take a seat next to Ariel and grab a bite from my breakfast.

-Good morning pretty.
I say and place a kiss on her lips.
-Good morning sleepy-pants.

We both smile and I continue my breakfast. Nobody said anything for a while. Ariel was soon to break the silence.

-Did anyone study for the Algebra test today?
-What do you mean we have an Algebra test today? asked Grayson
-I don't remember anything about any test.
I say as I empty my plate
-Yes, you dumbheads. We are writing a test today. I told you both yesterday just before you headed to practice.
-Right! I forgot.
-These kinds of conversations that I am forced to witness every now and then get me really excited to receive your grade papers gentlemen.
My mum says and we all laugh.

Shortly after I get up, put my shoes on and head out the door as does everyone behind me. My mum presses the button on her car keys and the car is shortly after unlocked. Everyone gets in and the engine starts.
Our school is not very far from my house and there is also a bus route that goes there but mum chooses to get us there herself so she can be sure that we actually attend. Plus her job is nearby so it is really no big deal. My parents own a small bakery downtown, near our school as I mentioned earlier. They make the best croissants in town. My parents' croissants are Ariel's favourite treat. I bring her a bunch every now and then.
Ariel and I have been together for a year. It's been great, she is great. She is the most interesting person I've ever met. She moved here last year from New York. Her father suddenly decided he was tired of the hustle and bustle of the city and the stress of his job and that he wanted something less busy. So they came here. She came to my school and that's how it all started.
We hanged out a couple of times and then I asked her out. I have liked this girl like that since the beginning and it's really been great.
As I mentioned above, me and Ari have been together for a year. So meanwhile our families are used to us been together almost 24/7. And I say almost because both of us have things we do separated. I do football and she does ballet. She spends hours at the studio rehearsing. I've seen her dance before enough to know how much passion she puts in it. It's like she dances with her soul, not her legs. She dreams to get a place in the Royal Ballet School of London. That was her dream since she was little. I don't know how she handles the stress though. Her instructor is so strict but she always manages.
I never knew how difficult it is to be a ballet dancer. I used to think that it's all tutus and feathers and stuff like that. Now that I can see up close I believe that ballerinas are very badass.
As I said above, I play football. I dream to get a scholarship out of it. I really wish to be a professional one day. But for now all I can do is the school team. This year I want to be team captain. Last season we won many games and it went great in the whole. I think coach sees just how hard I try and how much I deserve to be team captain and that he will give me this opportunity. Try-outs are today so it won't be long 'till I know.

The ride is ridiculously short, as usual. We get out of the car, say goodbye to my mum and head to class. The bell rings as soon as we get to our lockers. First period is Geometry for all three of us. Oh boy.... This school year is going to be tiring. We are just a few weeks in and I can already tell it's going to be boring. Well.. at least I have football.
