“Isn't he so dreamy!” Ally squealed while stuffing popcorn in her face.

I shrugged and kept eating popcorn also. Somewhere in the house I could hear Alex yelling. Currently I was spending the night at Allys' house. My first slumber party. Her parents didn't mind but my parents thought it wouldn’t be wise to stay up all night and be tired for my first day of school. So then Ally went to my house and met my parents. I think it's hard for anyone to say no to Ally. She really gets her point across about how having a slumber party and watching movies would get me prepared to face high school. They just laughed and agreed with her. I think they liked the fact that I just had good friends.

So far we had watched She's The Man, the first season of One Tree Hill and Veronica Mars, and currently we were watching The Bratz.

That was also what Ally was gushing about, the deaf football player. Just like Fritz.

“He's not as good looking as your boyfriend!” She then proceeded to laugh very loudly.

I nervously smile, still not used to the terms and label that I've put myself in.

“Everyone is going to freak out when they find out the new girl is Fritzs' girlfriend!”

I cough and change the subject. “Is high school really like this? Everyone separated in cliques?”

Ally looked a little sad, “Yeah. Everyone is separated like this! I don't like it but everyone just naturally does this!”

“Naturally? From some of these movies it looks like it happens by popularity and bullying.” I say, pointing out the situation in Bratz.

“Not just that but it's about looks and personality. A shy person can be popular if they are hot!” Ally says. At first she was talking like normal until it looked like she remembered that she yells. She wouldn't look at me and I didn't bother questioning it.

I lay back on my pillow. Ally and I were laying on the floor in her room because we both don't fit on her twin bed and she said slumber parties the girls always sleep together so I didn’t question anything.

Just the thought of going to school tomorrow and everyone being in groups. What if I hadn’t met Fritz and became friends with them? Would I have joined their group if I didn't know them but still went to this school?

“What group are all of you guys in?” I ask.

She looked like she didn't want to answer but it didn't take someone as smart as me to know. They were football players and cheerleaders, the jocks of the school. And they are all very pretty. I just kept laying in my sleeping bag. Letting it all ponder in my head.

The silence in the room didn’t last for long because Alex screamed and ran in the room, “It's not a slumber if the brother doesn’t ruin it with his awesome presence!”

I laughed at the siblings antics but I couldn't stop thinking of what tomorrow would bring.
