I couldn't help but stay up all night last night, I was really nervous. I was afraid that I would wake up to my Step Father trying to get me in a "happy mood". I woke up and quickly got changed, trying not to make eye contact with any of my siblings. As it was time to head out the door I was actually surprised that no one had told me happy birthday. I looked at the three siblings that I grew up with. Morg, Lex, and Peter were all rather sad. I should have known that no one would tell me happy birthday on the anniversary of my father running away before he was finally arrested.
I walked to school feeling extra shitty. As soon as I walked into school I was embraced by CayleeAnne, if I wasn't emotionally broken, perhaps I would have cried. I pulled away hesitantly, not wanting the hug to end. CayleeAnne and I had only recently became friends, but have gone through a lot together.
The day itself was rather boring, and only a few people remembered that it was my birthday. My own girlfriend didn't say happy birthday, yet I was content. I got home and saw that my friend Connor had messaged me.
Consolo: Hey it has been a while but, happy birthday
Consolo: You are honestly such an inspiration to me and I never want you to forget how much you mean to Becca and I
Consolo: I know you probably don't want to talk to Carter, but I think he needs you now more than ever
Consolo: This time last year Carter, Becca, you, and I had been in a big video call for you birthday, remember
Consolo: A couple days later you got mail, and it was a gift from all of us
Consolo: I just miss those days when we were all happy
Consolo: Now Becca has new friends, and barely talks to us
Consolo: Carter is suicidal
