I held my breath as we stood. The girl glanced from me back to Ques.
"Nadia, This is Jailyn, Jailyn, This is my sister Nadia, And'at is Lil' Bri Bug" He smiled, The baby did the same. I noticed the baby looked a lot like the girl, So I could only assume that it was her Mother.
She moved aside, Allowing us both to enter. The house was really nice, neat and organized. I followed Ques as Nadia led us through the house. We arrived at the kitchen, A woman turned around, Moving away from the stove.
She smiled as she spotted us.
"Hey baby, Who is this pretty lil' thang?"She spoke, Turning her attention to me. I slightly blushed at the compliment.
"Mama, This is Jailyn, Jailyn, This is my Mama Janet"-
"Please, Jus' call me Mama"She smiled. She gave me a hug, I felt weird...
"What you cookin' mama? It smells good!"Nadia spoke as she stood by the stove. She adjusted her baby on her hip as she stood by the stove.
"You'll find out later, It's almost done, I hope we'll have a guest tonight" She smiled my way.
"Nah Mama, I gotta get Jai home, And I'ma swing by Vic's too. I jus' came home t'drop'is off and change."Ques shut down...
"Maybe next time"Janet sighed. I followed Ques upstairs to his bedroom. It was a simple room, Nothing special, But it was the first time I'd been alone in a room with a boy...
"I'ma go change, Uh, You can sit or whatever"He said before going into the bathroom. I stood and began to look around, I noticed the photos on his dresser...There weren't many family portraits, But there were a lot of pictures of Ques with another dude. He looked so happy...
"That's Von"Ques' voice startled me. I turned to see him coming out of the bathroom, shirtless. I couldn't help but notice the large memorial tattoo that covered his bare chest. DeVonte was written as the main piece between angel wings and sun rays.
I sat down on his bed, I didn't really want to know very much, Because then he'd expect to know about me, And that wouldn't go very well...
"He's my cousin, He got killed a couple years ago"He added as he got a shirt out. I didn't want to press it, But him being comfortable enough to share that with me, made me feel some type of way.
