I dragged the thin metal blade across my throbbing wrist.

There was a knock on the bathroom door.

"Who is it?" I called.

"How long does it take for you to make yourself look emo you've been in there for over a half an hour?"

"Shut up Dylan I'll be out in a second." I replied as I heard his footsteps fade away.

I quickly wiped the stray blood drops off of the white tile floor, brushed my teeth and hid the blade where I always do, under one of the loose floor tiles. I had barely opened the door when Dylan came barging in.

"Move Red, I need to pee!"

"Jesus, fine leave me alone." I murmured as I walked to my room.

My name is Lindsey Sterling but everyone calls me Red because of my blood red dyed hair. I'm 17 and I'm a total emo outcast. I love black veil brides, my chemical romance, falling in reverse, and most importantly, palaye royale. My only escape from my life is being able to talk to Dan Juarez, the drummer from another band I like called get scared, and listening to music. I'm constantly on social media and the bands I like seem to notice me more than the people at my school. I get called an emo, self mutilating freak all the time, but thankfully I've learned to hide my earbuds under my hair so when I'm not taking a quiz or test, the rest of the world gets drowned out. It may seem like an exaggeration when I say I have no friends, but that's the absolute truth. I live in a preppy area and the handful of emos that go to my school don't talk to me because they're total introverts. A few people tolerate me but other than that my only friends are adults and teachers. Thankfully it's may and as my junior year comes to a close I can't wait for the summer, because even though my fair skin hates the sun, summer means warped tour and warped tour is the only place I ever feel I belong.
