THE NEXT MORNING
I woke up to a throbbing pain in my head. I go to look in the mirror only to see that it's broken and has a dent in it about the size of my head, well that explains the blood trickling from my hairline and my nose. I winced as I gingerly stroked my bruised jaw that I could see in the shards of glass. I crept into the upstairs bathroom and turned on the shower, i waited a few seconds before getting in. I let the warm water wash over my body and looked down to see a stream of red water, a mixture of my hair dye and blood, go down the drain. My side was black and blue, I had finger tip shaped bruises on my hips, arms, and neck from where my dad had grabbed me. There was a knock on the door.
"Red is everything okay? You've been in there for a while?" My dad asked through the door.
He must not remember hitting me last night. He was probably too drunk to know what he was doing and thought it was all a dream.
"Yeah dad everything's good, I'm just washing my hair." I replied quickly.
I heard his footsteps go down the stairs and let out a sigh of relief. I turned off the water and did my best to dry off before wrapping myself in a towel and going back to my room. I put my hair up in a messy bun and slipped on a pair of joggers and a black veil brides shirt. I put in my earbuds and plugged them into my phone, turning Boom Boom Room on shuffle before checking my messages. There was a message from an unknown number.
Unknown: hey I follow your Instagram and twitter and I got your number off of your Facebook, I hope you don't mind me texting you. We're into the same kind of music so I thought it'd be fun to talk.
I replied: sure I could use someone to talk to, I'm Red, what's your name?
Unknown: you can call v :)
Me: is that a nickname or does your name start with a 'v'?
V: my nickname is vampire, but my friends all call me V
Me: oh that's cool
A notification popped up for a message from Dan.
D: good morning :)
Me: morning what're you up to?
D: I'm about to start band practice but I wanted to check in and see how you're doing
Me: I'm good now don't keep the guys waiting or they'll get mad
D: okay, talk later?
Me: yeah :)
Another notification popped up from V.
V: what're your favorite bands?
Me: I like MCR, black veil brides, palaye Royale, escape the fate, get scared, falling in reverse, the pretty reckless etc hbu?
V: pretty much the same but add metro station, bring me the horizon and pierce the veil
A reminder popped up on my phone: work starts at 11. I checked the time, it was already 9:30 am. I worked at a diner down the street from my house during the day on weekends and at a club as a bartender at night every day but Monday. I'm saving up money because as soon as I graduate high school I'm moving out and going to trade school to become a hair dresser/ colorist, because I can't stand the abuse and hell my father puts me through. I texted V back.
Me: I've gtg I have work soon.
V: okay I'll text you later :)
I went to the bathroom to straighten my semi dry hair and pulled half of it back into a bun, letting my long fringed bangs fall across my face. I put on my foundation and my usual winged liner, but added a bit of a girly touch with some pale pink lipstick. I put on my black skater dress and frilly apron. The dress ended a little bit above my mid thigh and the apron went from the top of my breasts to about a hands length above the bottom of the dress. I put on my thigh highs and laced up my roller skates. That was the uniform for waitresses at the diner, I honestly didn't mind it as I found it quite cute and it was more fun to skate around than walk. I grabbed my purse and my phone, sprayed on a bit of perfume and headed down stairs.
"I'm off to work dad!" I called, rushing out the door without waiting for a response.
After the hell i had to go through to cover the bruises on my face there wasn't time to wait around for him to give me some more. I skated down the street until I saw the one story 50's styled diner where I worked, 'Skates and Milkshakes'.
A/n: how are you liking the story so far? If you want to be in the story I'd love some new personalities to base characters off of, just message me. :) also it's not letting me put pictures into the header so I just pasted it at the top.
