Jen and I talked til 2am. It was nice to get to know someone new, it was also great that I had made another friend. When we finally did go to sleep my mind wandered to V. I couldn't wait to meet him and meeting him was only hours away. When I finally drifted to sleep I dreamt of what he would look like, what I would say when I met him, and what he would think of me.
June 6th
Today was the day I was finally going to meet V, he texted me to remind me to meet him at the falling in reverse merch tent at 10. Little did he know I was already there, waiting for him. I stood in the grass and started scrolling through Twitter when my phone rang. It was V.
"Hey Red you wouldn't happen to be wearing black skinny jeans and a 'don't feel quite right' palaye shirt would you?" He said.
I was about to say yes but before I knew it someone had picked me up from behind and was hugging me.
"Oh my god V, I can't believe we're finally-"
I had turned around. This wasn't V, this couldn't be V. Standing in front of me was a smiling Remington Leith. What the actual fuck. And then it hit me, the person in the background called him Rem and said that they were on, Remington, on , like he had a show to play. It all clicked. I had been talking to the singer of my favorite band for months and I didn't even realize it.
"Holy shit!" I gasped, "Remington?!"
"Red?!" He mocked.
I punched his shoulder and he laughed, taking my hand and leading me back stage.
"Why didn't you tell me who you were?" I asked, still in shock.
"Well I thought you seemed cool and I wanted to get to know you as a person, not as that guy from a band."
"That actually makes a lot of sense."
"Technically I didn't lie I mean, my nickname in the band is the vampire, and sometimes Emerson calls me V." He said.
"I just can't believe that I didn't recognize your voice, I've seen a million of your interviews, I feel like an idiot."
"You're not an idiot, and voices always sound different over the phone."
That was a good point. He took my hand again and led me past the stages, to a small pond. There was a hammock hung between two nearby trees. We laid in it together and talked as if we were old friends.
"So do you know where you're gonna move?" He asked.
"Actually I got a job working stage crew and the merch booth for the summer, so for now, nowhere concrete."
"Wait you're here for the whole rest of the summer?" He smiled.
"Yeah, I mean unless I do something stupid and get myself fired."
"Even if you do get yourself fired, but I doubt you will," he quickly added, "you can come along with me and the boys."
"You're hilarious Remington, they would be totally fine with some random chick tagging along and living with them in close quarters for an extended period of time." I said rolling my eyes.
"Are you sassing me?" He asked in a mock hurt tone, "soon enough you won't be some random 'chick', how about you come meet the guys, we don't play for a few hours."
"Are you serious?" I said raising an eyebrow.
He took out his phone and snapped a picture of my face.
"Why'd you take a picture of me?"
"Because you looked funny and I want to send it to the guys so they know what you look like."
"Wow," I started, "that's a fantastic way to get introduced to your brothers, as the random girl with the weird eyebrows."
He giggled and grabbed my hand, getting out of the hammock and leading me to the area where all of the trailers were parked.
"Ready to meet them?" He asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be I guess."
A/n: sorry this is a shitty chapter, and I haven't updated recently I've been reading the 'tattoo' series, it's an Andy biersack fanfic trilogy. I highly recommend it the books are called tattooed, tattoos, and tattooed 2. Anyway I'm back in school meaning I will have plenty of time to continue writing.
