Dresses and Messes

"They should be showing up any minute now," Scarlet informs Wolf.
"Ok," he replies.
"The girls and I are going to a restaurant by the store. Do you know what you guys are doing for dinner?"
"No. Whatever they want I'm fine with."
"Alright. We shouldn't be to long."
"Do you know how long it'll take?"
"I'm not really sure. Probably an hour for dinner and an hour or two for shopping."
"That's a long time."
"I know, but it's a big decision."
A knock comes on the door, and Scarlet rushes over. She opens the door, hugging Cinder immediately.
"Thanks for coming," Scarlet says gratefully.
None of the other girls are there yet. Cinder and Kai were the first to arrive.
"Of course. How are you doing?" Cinder asks Scarlet who's acting perkier than normal as they go in.
Kai and Wolf sit on the couch to talk.
"Fine," Scarlet says.
"Are you excited?" Cinder questions.
"Excited. Pretty nervous," Scarlet admits.
"Why are you nervous?"
"I'm afraid we won't find anything."
"Dont worry, we will."
The girls are going to get the bride's maids dresses, the maid of honor dress, and most importantly, Scarlet's wedding dress.
The boys are going to hang out at the house while they're gone.
Cress and Thorne arrive and knock.
Scarlet let's them in and hugs them.
"I'm so excited!" Cress says.
"Me too," Scarlet replies.
"Wolf in the living room?" Thorne asks.
"Yeah, and Kai," Scarlet tells him.
"Sweet."
He goes to the living room.
"I'm glad the boys are getting a chance to hang out," Cinder comments.
"It'll be nice for them to have some guy time," Scarlet agrees.
"Where's Iko?" Cress asks.
"She's gonna meet us at the store," Cinder explains.
"Oh, alright."
Winter and Jacin come not much later.
Once they're ready the girls go to the living room to say goodbye.
"Alright boys, we're gonna go. We'll be back in a few hours," Scarlet tells them.
"Take your time," Thorne replies.
Cinder kisses Kai's cheek from behind the couch.
Cress gives Thorne a tight hug.
Scarlet hugs Wolf while giving him a soft kiss. She moves back and gets up, grabbing her small bag.
"Behave. All of you," Scarlet orders.
"Don't worry Scarlet. We will."
Thorne grins.
She gives him a warning look then they go.
"Party time!" Thorne yells.
"No," Wolf replies.
"Why not?"
"Scarlet said to behave."
"That's no fun."
"Her punches aren't very fun."
"I vote we party."
"I don't," Kai comments.
"Me neither," Jacin adds.
"Fine. Aces," Thorne gives in.
"What do you guys want to eat?" Wolf asks.
"Anything's fine with me," Kai replies.
"Same," Jacin says.
"Any ideas?" Wolf questions Thorne.
"We could get pizza," he recommends.
"Ok. What do you guys want on it?"
Kai shrugs.
"I don't care," Jacin says.
"Double pepperoni," Thorne requests.
Wolf nods and gets up.
"We should get some beer too," Thorne adds.
"No," Wolf tells him.
"Why not?"
"Scarlet doesn't like alcohol in the house."
"She's not here is she?"
"She isn't. But I am. No alcohol."
"Stars, you're so strict."
"Thank you."
Wolf goes to the kitchen and orders while Thorne plots a plan to get some alcohol.
Wolf comes back and sits.
"I'll go pick it up in twenty minutes," Wolf tells them.
"I can get it," Thorne offers.
"You don't have to."
"I want to."
Wolf looks at him suspicious.
"What? I can't do something for a friend?"
"Alright. Saves me money I guess."
"Great!"
He waits for the twenty minutes then goes.

"This looks fancy," Cress excitedly comments.
The girls had just arrived at the restaurant and are looking at the Italian building.
"It is," Scarlet tells her as they go inside.
She had reserved a table, so they get seated immediately.
The waitress takes their drink orders then leaves them to look at the menus.
"Everything looks so good," Cinder says.
"I know. All of the food here is amazing," Scarlet replies.
"There's so many different options," Cress adds.
"I wish I could try it all," Winter comments.
"We can all get something different and try each others," Scarlet suggests.
"That's a good idea."
"We gonna do that?"
They all agree on it.
"Everyone get whatever they think sounds good," Scarlet says.
"Any recommendations?" Cinder asks.
"Whatever you like really. We don't come here much since its expensive but what I've had is really good."
"Alright."
After a bit more looking the girls decide what they want. The waitress gives them their drinks. They're all having wine and water.
The waitress takes their orders then takes the menus out of the way.
"So, did you finish everything for the wedding?" Winter asks Scarlet.
"Everything but the dresses and jewelry. Wolf is still deciding his best man," Scarlet replies.
"Really?"
"Yeah. He doesn't want to choose between his friends."
"Kai won't care if he's not picked," Cinder assures.
"Jacin doesn't either," Winter says.
"I don't think Thorne would care," Cress adds.
"Still. He'll decide soon enough."
They nod.
"What colored dresses are we getting?" Cress questions.
"The maid of honor dress is going to be red and the bride's maids will be white. My dress will be white as well," Scarlet explains.
"That's cute."
"Èmilie is the maid of honor right?" Cinder.
"Well, no. She called this morning and said she can't come."
"Oh. I'm sorry Scarlet."
"Don't be. We're not very close anymore and I think I'd prefer one of you guys."
"I still wish she'd come."
"Me too."
"Why can't she?"
"Since she moved away it's hard for her to leave work and travel here for days."
"That sucks."
"Yeah," Scarlet sighs.
"But it's ok. You still have us," Winter comments.
"I do. And you guys are my best friends."
"We'll always be there for you Scarlet."
"Thanks guys."
They all smile at each other.
"So who's going to be your maid of honor?" Cress asks.
"I thought I'd talk about that with you guys and make the decision together."
"It's up to you thought. It's your wedding."
"I don't want it to seem like I'm picking favorites."
"We won't see it that way at all."
"Are you sure?"
"We're sure."
"It's your decision," Winter agrees.
"Alright. Cinder? Wanna be my maid of honor?" Scarlet asks.
"Me?" Cinder replies shocked.
"Yeah."
"Of course."
Scarlet hugs her. She hugs her back. The other smile at them.
"And you guys are going to be my beautiful bride's maids."
"How exciting!" Cress says.
"I can't wait Scarlet friend," Winter smiles.
They talk until the waitress brings their food.
Winter got a scallop plate, Cress got salmon with garlic pasta, Cinder got steak with asparagus, and Scarlet got chicken alfredo.
They thank the waitress and begin eating.

"I'm back!" Thorne announces while carrying in two boxes of pizza with a carrier of beer balancing on top.
The others look at him.
Wolf frowns.
Thorne sets them on the coffee table.
"I said no alcohol," Wolf says.
"Don't worry, there's more in the Rampion."
"Are you stupid."
"Some would say yes."
Wolf growls.
"It's just a little bit. You don't have to have some."
"I don't want it in my house."
"Scarlet doesn't want it in your house."
"Which is exactly why I don't want it in my house."
"Oh come on. It's fine. We won't make a mess with it."
"That's the only case that comes in this house."
"Ok ok."
"You can put all the empty bottles in the Rampion too."
"Ok. Aces."
"Can we eat?" Jacin asks.
"Yeah sure," Wolf says while opening the pizza box.
Thorne hands each of them a beer and they start eating.
Wolf finds a show they all like to watch while they eat.
"Thanks for the food," Jacin appreciates.
"You're welcome," Wolf replies.
Thorne notices Kai picking at a piece of pizza and his beer empty.
"You good?" Thorne asks, nudging Kai with his elbow.
"Yeah, I'm good," Kai replies.
"Why aren't you eating?"
"Just not used to this much grease is all."
"We can get you something else," Wolf offers.
"No no. I'm alright," Kai assures.
"I don't want you to not eat."
"I'm eating, just slowly."
"Alright."
"Hey wolf," Thorne gets his attention.
"Yeah?"
"Who's gonna be your best man?"
"Uh, I'm not really sure yet. I think I'll pick whoever's dating Scarlet's maid of honor."
"Who's the maid of honor?"
"Scarlet's choosing tonight. I think it's Cinder but I can't say for sure."
"Dang it."
"You can still be in the wedding."
"I know."
Wolf looks at Thorne who grins.
"Being their to support my crew is good enough for me."

"They're all so pretty," Cress swoons.
They had just walked into the store full of a variety of dresses.
"Guys!"
Iko runs over and hugs each of them.
"Hey Iko," Cress says.
"Hey! Everything in this store is so pretty. I wish I could wear it all!"
Scarlet already starts to feel overwhelmed.
An android approaches them.
"Hello ladies. May I help you?" the android asks.
"Yes. I set an appointment for 7," Scarlet explains.
"Scarlet Benoit?"
"Yes."
"How many people are with you?"
"My maid of honor and three brides maids."
"Ok. Everything's set. You may look around and pick any dresses you want to try on. Whenever you're ready to try things on you may hit the button by the dressing room and someone will be there quickly to assist you."
"Ok. Thank you."
The android goes away.
"I guess we can start," Scarlet tells the girls.
"Come look at this dress I found!" Iko yells, grabbing Scarlet's arm and dragging her to a dress aisle.
The girls laugh and follow them.
Iko shows Scarlet a white wedding dress with light pink flowers going from the one shoulder going to bottom of the dress. The flowers fade as it goes down.
"Oh wow," Scarlet says, touching the dress.
"That's beautiful," Cress comments.
"It is."
Iko smiles proudly.
Scarlet's looking at the dress.
"It's so pretty...I don't think it's the right one for me though."
"It isn't?" Iko asks disappointed.
"No. It's to flowery."
"Aww."
"Sorry."
"It's alright. We'll find you another one."
Scarlet nods.
"Let's find the maid of honor dress first," Scarlet requests.
They all go to the maid of honor dresses and look through them.
"What color?" Iko questions.
"Red. I'm thinking maybe something silky and long," Scarlet describes.
"Got it."
They look through the dresses.
"Look at this one!" Iko squeals.
She holds up a smooth red dress with diamonds on the belt and collar of the dress. The collar goes from the shoulders to the chest.
"I love it," Scarlet reacts.
She touches it then looks at Cinder.
"Do you like it?" she asks her maid of honor.
"Yeah. It's pretty," she replies.
"Well that was easy," Cress comments.
"Lets get the bride's maids dresses then you can try it on."
She nods.
They look through the short bride's maids dresses.
Iko shows Scarlet a few different ones, but she doesn't like any of them.
They eventually decide upon three different, but similar, short white dresses.
They try them on and agree that those are the ones.
They move on to the wedding dresses. After an hour of trying on and looking through dressed, Scarlet finds her perfect dress.
They order everything then head back to the Benoit and Kesley farm.

"That's not true!" Thorne yells.
The boys had all gone through several beers, excluding Kai who got drunk on two, and were now arguing.
"It's very true," Jacin insists.
"No it's not!"
"It so is," Kai backs Jacin up.
"How would you know?"
"Because I know," Kai explains.
"No you don't. You're just a snobby prince!"
"Emperor."
"At least I have muscle."
"I have muscle!"
"Hardly."
They glare at each other.
"At least I'm not in love with a dumb machine," Kai come backs.
"Dont talk about my baby!"
"I'll talk about what I want to."
Jacin rolls his eyes.
"Can you two shut up?" Wolf requests.
Thorne gets up and accidents stumbles over the table, knocking all of the empty beer bottles and a case of full ones on the floor. Beer and glass gets everywhere.
Wolf helps Thorne up.
"Scarlet's going to kill me," Wolf groans.
They see lights through the window in the dark outside as the girls get back.
The boys eyes widen.
"Oh no..."
