I went into my room and discarded all of my clothes changing into something more comfortable. I walk out of my room finding Valerie sitting on the couch with the news on.
"Today marks the anniversary of the disappearance of Ethan Grant Dolan. A teenage boy that was ready to graduate the next month but, sadly went missing the month before. His parents were presumed dead after tragedy struck the family. Only one member of the family is known to be out and about. We have no information on him for some unknown reason. But, for now getting those news out of the way. A local robbery happened at the gas station last nigh-" I shut off the tv before the news reporter could talk any further.
"Hey!" Valerie shouted.
"Don't you see, Val? That boy has been missing for a year now. Doesn't it give you the suspicion that he might possibly still be out there. Didn't it hurt you when the news reporter just moved onto the next report leaving people in their homes on the edge of oblivion to hear more about that boys case?," I inhale deeply releasing out a long sigh," The thing is we tend to move on so quickly and we don't really focus on what's actually there. It hurts, Val. The fact that people are becoming so unsentimental about things and sooner or later, people will have developed a heart of stone. You know why? Because, no one actually takes the time to let things sink in.." I rant out to her.
She looked like she had just gotten hit with a pile of bricks in her face. "Rachel... I don't know what to say.." She said at loss of words. I just roll my eyes at my roommate and slam the door of my bedroom.
Gray's P.o.v.
I kick some rocks out of my path as I exhale slowly through my nose. Once I reach the grassy green patch of land, my knees make their way to the ground as the tears make their way down my cheeks.
"I'm so so sorry. I have failed you guys. I haven't been able to find him. Here you guys are in a place you didn't deserve to have been. I could've saved you. But I didn't, because I'm such a failure..." My fingers traced the engraved letters to the marble stone.
I sniffled and wiped away my tears looking at the gravestone one last time before walking off to the bus stop.
I patiently waited for the bus to arrive as I composed myself before entering. I dropped in some coins and sat in my seat. I noticed the brunette wasn't sitting across from me like usual. She must've gotten off earlier or something.
Not that I care. I mean the only females in my life are long gone. So, I don't really have as much of a sentimental heart when it comes to females. I've tried multiple times to at least settle myself down. But, it just doesn't seem to work out for me. So I just get rid of them before they think it's going to last.
I grab the pencil from behind my ear and press onto the paper. I don't show anyone what I do in this book. It's called a diary for a reason isn't it? In my interpretation, diary stands for;
Dear
I
Always
Remember
You.However, if someone tries to snoop around I have my other interpretation of diary.
Don't even try
In opening such
A
Remarkable book
You will be found and killed :)It always scares them away. I smirk and continue finishing up my work. Before I realize it, I'm the last stop and get up from my seat tightly holding my dear, old, leather brown book.
As I exit I find that the flyer I had posted onto the lightpost was ripped off. I sigh and take out another flyer from my diary and staple it on. Hopefully, this one stays..
This chapter is more of a filler. I tend to make a lot of fillers just because I have a bit of writers block but hopefully the next few chapters won't suck.
What do you think about Rachel's little rant?
Who do you think Gray was visiting?
What flyer is Gray talking about?
What do you guys want to see more of?
I hope you guys enjoyed it:) ilysm💖
