Ashton's POV:
The thought of finally getting to leave my dad was scary and relieving. Scary because I didn't know what would happen to me, but relieved because.. well.. that's self-explanatory.
Nate and I were sitting on the couch flicking through tv channels when there was a knock on the door. "I got it." I chirped as I hopped up and strolled over to the door.
I opened it and there was a lady who looked in her late twenties on the other side. "Ashton Quinn?" She asked.
"Uh yeah? Who are you?"
"I'm Sierra from CPS. I'm here because of what I've heard about your dad. May I come in so we can talk?" She asked gesturing to the inside of my house.
"Sure I guess?" I moved away and she followed me in. Nate gave me a weird look.
"Who are you?" Nate asked in a protective voice when he saw her. He got up to my side and wrapped an arm around my waist as if to protect me.
"I'm Sierra from CPS, I'm here about her dad."
"This way." I led Sierra over into the kitchen to talk. "Why are you here? So I'm leaving my dad, what's the big deal?" I started getting a little frustrated.
"Well since your 16, you can't stay alone and your brother isn't 18 yet so he can't adopt you. So you will be going into the foster system.." Sierra got quieter as she spoke. "Since Dylan turns 18 in two days we decided to let him go. There's no need."
"Please no.." tears threatened to spill from my eyes.
"I'm sorry Ashton, but it's my job."
"What about school? And Dylan?.. and Nate..?" I looked down then at Nate. He too had tears in his eyes, but his haven't spilled yet.
"I'm truly very sorry Ashton, but you have to go. Now where's Dylan?"
"Upstairs with his boyfriend Noah.." I mumbled. Sierra had to strain to hear me and when she heard she gave a weird look for half a second.
"I'll be back." She got up and went upstairs to get him.
"Ash.." Nate started.
"No no no no this can't be happening.. I can't leave you Nate.. I need you.. please don't let me go.." I cried as Nate pulled me into hug so I could cry on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me as tight as possible, not wanting to let go.
"Ashton!" Dylan ran to me. Just as Nate let me go I ran into Dylan and Noah's arms. New tears ran down my face as well as Dylan and Noah's.
"I won't go!" I screamed at Sierra.
"You have to."
"You're going to take me away from my only remaining family! From my only two friends! You're evil! You're evil and cruel and heartless!" I know what I was saying wasn't true, but I couldn't help it. I was so mad. I know that she doesn't want to, but in this moment I don't care.
"I don't want to, but I have to. Now go gather your things. We're leaving in 20 minutes." Sierra sat back down and I went upstairs to start packing what little I had. Nate, Dylan, and Noah followed.
Everyone stayed outside except for Noah. He walked in after me to talk after I finished packing.
"Ashton. I know I haven't known you long, but I've loved getting to know you. I'm so so happy you finally started talking to me." He said.
