Chapter 3- Barbecue I
Sam finished putting her long twists in a big bun and slipped in her tiny hoop earrings and her diamonds in the second piercing. She adjusted the tiny diamond in her nose piercing.
She called up the bakery and told them the address to the barbecue. She drove slowly there so she and the bakery could reach approximately at the same time.
She texted Jeremiah saying she was here.
Jeremiah: Who's this?
She turned her nose up and shook her head.
Jeremiah slipped out of the beautiful stone exterior house quietly. She looked up and gave him a funny look.
"What?" he asked her, giving her a funny look himself.
"How many people are you expecting for you to be asking who is this?" Sam spoke.
"I don't have my phone. Leah, my um ... fiancée has it." Jeremiah said.
Sam chuckled.
"You don't seem to sure about the fiancée part," She said.
Jeremiah sighed and instructed Sam's employees where to go with the stuff. He turned back to Sam when they started moving.
"Sam'Riyah, I assure you that I am very sure about the fiancée part. It's just that we had a little argument last night and things are a bit shaky, not that I should be telling you," Jeremiah said.
Sam chuckled again.
"Not that I care. Where's Riley?" Sam asked.
"You're rude." Jeremiah pouted.
Sam rolled her eyes.
"Boo hoo, suck your lip in and answer my question," She said.
Jeremiah let out a small laugh.
"She's around somewhere but you got to talk to my mom first."
"I should've prepared for this. Beginner's tip Jeremiah, I don't like conversing with people so if you think I am gonna allow you to run me around and introduce me to yo whole family, think again," Sam said.
"It's just my mom, Sam'Riyah." Jeremiah shook his head and guided her into the house.
"Call me something else... Sam, Riyah or sumn'. My government is only used in serious situations," Sam voiced.
"Sam it is. This way," Jeremiah led her through the beautiful house. At first she stepped into a big open space with marble flooring. As she walked through, she saw a glimpse of the living room on her left, it was decorated in the colours cream, brown, and a little baby blue in the figurines and accessories.
They made it to the marble design kitchen and there was a light caramel skinned woman. You could see she seemed to be in her fifties or there about. She had thin curly hair and was of a short and curvy stature. Her smile was bright and she had a great energy radiating of her.
"Mom, this is the "angel" Riley has been telling you about," Jeremiah said.
"Ooohhh, she's gorgeous! An angel indeed," Jeremiah's mom said, her gray eyes studying Sam's face.
Sam blushed and looked down.
"Thank you. I'm Sam'Riyah." She introduced.
"Nice to meet you baby, call me Janet. Thank you for helping my grand baby by the way," Janet said.
Before Sam could reply, a small bundle wrapped around her legs. She looked down and saw Riley.
"Angel!" Riley exclaimed.
