So Pearlshipping...

Eh. I don't really know how I feel about this ship. I am ok with it, I guess. I used to ship it more, but I'll get into that later. I'd say it is my fourth Ash x traveling partner ship.

Pearlshipping is named after the series' name: Diamond and PEARL. Although, I wonder why it isn't Diamondshipping.

I have a few things I like about it. They look cute together. Their personalities fit each other greatly. Also, there are the most amount of hints, besides Amourshipping. Oh, and did I mention that there is absolute baller fan art? There is that too. Oh, and this one is probably second most likely.

Of course, this ship is not perfect. I see them having at LEAST a four year gap between their ages. I see Ash to be 15 in the diamond and pearl series (disregarding Best Wishes). For the ship itself, that's basically it?

Now, I know you're thinking, "BUT LZD, IF THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT, WHY DO YOU NOT LIKE IT THAT MUCH?!?!?!" Well, look. There is one thing about the ship that cancels out all of the good. I don't like Pearlshipping because of..............

The fan base. Oh My Arceus, the fans. Now, not all Pearlshippers are bad. Of course not. I've just seen more Pearlshippers trash talking other shippers than Amourshippers, Sorielshippers, Papytonshippers, hell, even Pokeshippers and Alphyneshippers.

I have a prime example of this. The meanest Pearlshipper I have seen is Pearlshipping T.V., or as I like to call them, Serena Hate Club. Literally, they hate Serena. They say they don't, but it's quite obvious. The only reason I can find is for being shipped with Ash. I actually used to like this channel, but then I found this video.

This video pissed me off when I first saw it. The first half is okay, but the second half is unacceptable.

Let's break down the video:
First of all, making up after fights does strengthen a relationship. HOWEVER, it strengthens it ONLY when they are meaningful. Most of Ash's and Dawn's fights are just trying to get at each other's throats. Ash's and Serena's fight had a boat load of meaning. Without Serena, Ash would have never mastered Ash-Greninja, beaten Wulfric, or make it to the finals in the Kalos League. Also, it's making up after fights isn't solely something for Pearlshipping. Negaishipping has even better examples of this.

Now, the second part. This is what got me so pissed off. I was subscribed before I saw this, but then I unsubscribed after watching it. Serena CAN relate to Ash. Actually, her loss surpasses Ash's loss, in my opinion. Also, Ash pushed her away because of his minor attitude problem, not because they have a "fake bond". I could go on for hours, but I don't want to. Again, if you are a Pearlshipper, I am fine with that. I don't hate you. If you like this channel, I don't hate you. I am just saying that a large number of Pearlshippers are just nasty towards other people.

Yeah, this ship is great, but the fanbase just ruins it for me. It went from my second favorite Ash ship to tied for last. That's all I have to say.

Final Verdict: 3.5 out of 10. Great ship, but a majority of Pearlshippers ruined it for me. That's it. Please don't rip my head off.
