They all sat talk, laughed, joked around. It was nice until Sarah slipped up.
"We're actually going to back to Florida soon." She nodded.
Jay and Gray both looked at her, hurt in their eyes.
"We only came for a book signing. We're over welcoming our stay." Sarah looked down at her drink.
"Y-you're leaving?" Gray spoke. "When?"
"Next week." Sarah sighed.
"I thought you were going to buy house here. I thought we were going to stay here." Theresa looked at her.
Sarah looked at Theresa. Seeing her sad eyes made Sarah sad. Sarah looked at Gray and Jay.
"You guys should totally move here. We'll show you around." Gray said.
"No, let them leave if they want too." Jay spoke sourly. "It is their lives."
"I want to stay." Theresa looked at Sarah.
Sarah looked at Theresa. Sarah was homesick, she wanted to smell the Florida air, relax in the Florida sun. She blink and tears ran down her face.
"Whoa, don't cry." Gray grabbed her hand.
"Um, excuse me." Sarah stood and walked out.
Theresa looked at Jay and Gray.
"I'll go talk with her." Theresa stood. "Excuse me."
Theresa rushed after Sarah. She looked to see Sarah walking down the street. She ran after her.
"What is with you." Theresa grabbed her arm.
"I know you want to stay here but..." Theresa cut her off.
"But what?" Theresa said. "This place is way better than Florida."
"I know!...but what about Charlene huh?" Sarah said. "I can't leave my sister behind, your best friend."
"Then move her here with us." Theresa said.
Sarah stood thinking about it.
"Do you think she'd come?" Sarah asked.
"Maybe, but if not we're staying here." Theresa crossed her arms.
"Okay, but can we go back to Florida for like a week?" Sarah asked. "I mean, I could always leave you here."
"To defend myself!? No thank you!" Theresa gasped.
Sarah's phone rang. She looked to see Gray calling.
Should I answer it? Sarah asked herself.
She ended up rejecting the call.
"How rude." Gray said, making Sarah jump.
Sarah opened her mouth then closed it. Theresa looked at Jay who was staring dead at her.
"You don't have explain yourself." Gray sighed. "If you wanna go then it's best to do it now."
Sarah looked confused.
"What do you mean?" Sarah asked.
Gray rolled his eyes. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her along with him leaving Jay and Theresa alone.
"Wait.." Theresa watched him rush off with her friend.
"They'll be fine. You hungry?" He asked.
"A little." Theresa answered.
"Come on, I know a good sushi place." He motioned for her to follow him.
Theresa's face lit up at the word Sushi. She licked her lips and followed him. Theresa wasn't paying attention and walked while cars were coming. Jay grabbed her hand and pulled her out the way. She looked up at him. She was a bit shorter than him. Being this close to him made her heart flutter.
Theresa didn't know what to say. She blinked a few times and stepped back.
"Uhh, Thanks." Theresa mumbled.
He smiled and grabbed her hand.
"Stay next to me." He said, his eyes searching hers.
