One night with Thomas already made Alex want to drop out and move to Australia. All Thomas said was negative complaints on how Alex cleaned his space, or how the shower sucks. But, Alex didn't let that get to him. All that he had his mind on was the debate later that day.

The debate.

Alex rehearsed and studied many facts about the topic, which was whether the driving age should be raised or kept. He set his claim and his counter-argument. But, on the other side of the room, Thomas was doing the same exact thing.

"James! This debate is important to me!" Thomas whispered loudly into the phone. Thomas was nervous for the debate, but he didn't show it. Alex has beat every person before him, and now it's Thomas' turn. And he wasn't ready. He spent most of his day researching on his topic, writing notes, and getting ready to address the fact that Alex might win the debate. The only person he could go to was James Madison, his best friend, and his only real friend.

"He might actually beat me... I'm never going to hear the end if it!"

Thomas took every chance he took to insult or tease Alex. Either about his way for cleaning, or how bad the shower is. And it was the best way to keep his mind off things. But the thought of being teased about a defeat... Thomas shivered at the thought.

*BEEP*

Alex's alarm went off, the sound screeching in the two males ears.

"Dammit Hamilton! Turn off that darn alarm!"

"What? Is it bothering you?" Says Alex with a smirk from the other side of the door.

Alex was already up and ready. His plan was to get up before Thomas, so he could go to school early and rehearse with Mr.Washington. According to Washington, Alex was like a son to him. Even though the thought of having him as a dad made Alex shiver.

As Alex heads to the door, ready to go, Thomas grumbles and stumbles out of his room. Alex looks in annoyance as he grabs Alex's favorite cereal box and pours the grains into a bowl.

Alex scoffs and walks away. But right before he closed the door he heard the roommate say,

"Someone woke up at the wrong side of the bed this morning."

Alex rolls his eyes. "Ugh, Thomas that jerk. Why me. Why does he have to room with me?" Alex thinks to himself and shakes his head.

"If this is the gods way of trying to get us to get along, it isn't working."

Alex sighs and walks to school. As he turns the corner for Law class, he's sees multiple people waiting outside of the class.

They're waiting to see the debate.

The debate was like a show to them. Whoever won was considered the protagonist. And whoever lost was the antagonist. And Alex was always the protagonist. He wasn't going to let Thomas break his winning streak.

"Hey dude! I'm rooting for you."
"Wassup bro, good luck out there!"
"I hope Thomas beats your ass."

Yeah there's commitment to these debates.

After a struggle of getting through the large crowd outside of his favorite subject, he finally walks inside, greeted by Mr.Washington.

"Hello Alex." He says with a smile. "Ready for today's debate?"

"I was born ready. I have nothing to worry about, I mean come on. It's Jefferson we're talking about here."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that. He's been working hard to get where he is right now Alex." He says with an uneasy tone.

Alex really didn't understand what his teacher was so worried about. Alex was amazing at debates! Thomas wasn't going to defeat him today. Right...?

Alright Ladies and Gentlemen, you could've been anywhere on the campus today but you're here with us in the court room. Are you ready... for a debate?!

*crowd applauded*

The issue on the table: Alexander Hamilton proposes that the minimum driving age should still be concrete. Though,Thomas Jefferson here contradicts to raise the age. Mr.Jefferson, you have the floor sir.

~End of Debate~

"Thomas won... THOMAS WON!" Alex angrily thought to himself.
"How in the world did he win... I clearly did better, showed more evidence. Annnnd I'm never going to head the end of this." Alex mutters.

After a long debate, taking over the entire school day, he walks to his dorm, feeling let down. Now he has to face Thomas. Again. When they received the final score, and we found out that Thomas won, he waved the paper in my face, danced around me and yelled,

"I BEAT ALEX FRIKING HAMILTON! Who's the best now huh? Huh what was that you said? Me that's right!"

Alex takes out his room key and unlocks the door, while shaking his head, still in disbelief. Alex enters the dorm and sees something he wasn't expecting.
