            I was running...running through a dark, rainy forest. Where was I running exactly? I don’t know. I didn't even know where I was in the first place, so to tell where I was heading would be impossible. Looking around, I tried to scope out my surroundings, but it was too hard through the rain. That’s when I heard the footsteps...the unmistakable sound of someone chasing after me. It made me speed up, and my bare feet started to hurt even worse than they already were.

            I started to wonder how I got here and why I have no shoes on. I was also wondering who was chasing me and why. Then I had the ‘brilliant’ idea of turning in hopes of seeing who was behind me. I couldn't see anyone or anything, so I turned forward again, but it was too late. The speed I was running was too fast for me to try to stop myself. I closed my eyes, preparing myself for the long fall down the edge of the cliff.

            Nothing came, though. Well, nothing other than the feeling of a pair of arms wrapping around my waist and air. Once I was back on the ground, my eyes shot open, but the arms were gone faster than they came. Turning around, I saw the stranger a few feet away, but I couldn't see their face. It was obviously a guy, you could tell by their figure. His face was hidden in the darkness and rain. I tried to speak, but no words would come out. Walking a little closer, I tried to see his face, but it was no use. He turned it further away the closer I got and made his hair fall over it. I got close enough to push of his hood, but still couldn't see his face.

            Before I could get any closer looks, ask who this stranger was, or question why he was chasing me...there was a loud noise that made me jump up. Where’d that come from? Right before I came back to, I looked up and saw familiar bright blue eyes.

            I looked around in a daze and realized I was in school, in language arts. It was all a dream...yet it felt so real. Finally coming back to, I noticed the noise was Mr. Smith slamming a book on my desk.

             “Am I interrupting something, Gabrielle?”

            I rubbed my eyes tiredly before sliding my hands down my face, “Sorry, Mr. Smith. No, you aren't interrupting anything. Continue...” I waved my hand about, “with what you were going on about.” He shot me a disapproving glare before walking back to the front of the classroom; returning to his lecture. A few kids in the classroom snickered. I looked over to see Christina with an inquisitive look on her face, and I shook my head. Before I turned back around, I noticed someone staring at me from the far back of the room.

            When I looked to see who, I saw it was Caden. I wasn't sure what to think after last night and him leaving without any notice, so I just turned back around and ignored him the rest of the period. That was harder than I thought it should be.

            Throughout the whole day, that dream was the only thing coursing through my jumbled up mind....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
            At lunch, Caden sat with us again. It was like he was a part of our little group already; everyone was welcoming him with open arms. Well, everyone except for Erik of course. He just sat there and glared at both of us the whole time. Oh well, whatever. I could tell Caden kept glancing at me, but I chose to ignore it; instead, I chose to think about that dream.
            It felt so real; my feet even hurt after that. I think it might just be my imagination, but who knows. Maybe the dream was some kind of symbolism or something…but if it is, then of what?
