Chapter 8 - The Sleepover

Because I wasn't able to bring myself to go to the pep rally, I stayed in a booth a Pops the whole night. After I had expected the event to be over and I was going to leave the diner, Veronica and Betty had walked in. Once they saw me, Veronica had this wide smile and she came over to my booth with Betty following behind her.

"Mace, we missed you at the pep rally!" She glowed and I sighed, scooting further towards the window as she sat beside me and Betty across from us.

"Yeah, what happened?" Betty asked more concerned with furrowed eyebrows and I shook my head.

"Just..." I paused, thinking about how I would say this before sighing once again as I breathed out, "...nothing."

Excusing my gloomy mood, they had ordered milkshakes as they told me about Cheryl's break down during the pep rally and how they had ended up rocking the cheer routine. I smiled at how much Betty had enjoyed it and looked towards the door right as Archie and Jughead had entered. As if time had slowed down, Archie looked to me nervously then down to Betty from the register and I looked beside him to Jughead as he fixed his jacket slightly. I sent him a small smile and he returned it with a nod.

"Do you guys want to join us?" Betty asked the both of them with a small smile.

Jughead looked to Archie then me before replying with a, "only if you're treating." As he started to walk towards us. I scoffed a laugh as Jug stood on the booth seats behind Veronica and I and hoped into the seat between the window and I.

"Veronica Lodge." Veronica introduced herself to Jug.

"Jughead. Jones. The third." He introduced himself to the raven and she raised an eyebrow.

"Jughead Jones The Third?" She repeated with a small chuckle and I nodded.

*Jughead Jones Narration*

"To someone on the outside, peering in, there may have looked like there were five people in that booth. But I was there and I could tell you..really there were only four...a blonde girl, a raven haired girl, the most beautiful strawberry blonde girl in the world, and the luckiest red-headed boy in the universe. For one shining moment we were just kids. Those brightly neon lights keeping the darkness at bay. Giving away, as all nights must, to a morning of reckoning."

Jughead had later walked me home after we dropped Archie and Betty off at their houses. Throughout the whole walk, we haven't said a word as because I was enjoying the night air too much. Jug hadn't seemed to mind as he had his hands in his pockets and walked comfortably beside me. When we got to my house, he walked me up to the doorway.

"Did you want to come inside?" I asked with a shrug.

"No, it's getting really late. I should go home." Jughead denied.

"You can just stay the night. I doubt your mom would mind, she loves me." I laughed and he had this unsure expression with a hint of sadness before nodding.

"She does, doesn't she." Jug commented, rubbing the back of his neck before nodding. "I guess I can stay." I grinned, opening the door and going inside.

After I closed the door behind him I asked, "Do you want to watch a movie? Binge watch a show?" I suggested with a shrug at the end as we walked up the stairs to my room.

"We have school tomorrow." Jug scoffed.

"So you want to watch supernatural?" I laughed and he rolled his eyes after another scoff as we sat on my bed. "Fine, the Vampire Diaries it is." I shrugged.

"Let's just stick with Supernatural for now." He sighed objectively and I smiled, going over to my drawers to get out a pajama.

"I'm sorry...did you want some sweatpants that I took from Archie a while ago?" I asked with a raised eyebrow as I had noticed that I didn't have any pajamas for Jughead.

He shook his head, taking off his many jackets and setting them on my desk chair. "No, it's fine. I can just sleep like this."

I hesitantly nodded, taking the dark sweatpants from my 'borrowed clothes from Archie' drawer and handing them to him. "It's fine, I just washed them." I sighed with rolled eyes. Juggie then rolled his eyes after me, taking them and going down the hall to the bathroom. I locked my room door after he walked out, changing into a pair of shorts and an oversized shirt that I've also borrowed from Archie. What he doesn't remember I took won't kill him...

The whole night Jughead and I had stayed in my bed and watched Supernatural which was pretty interesting. You would think that the little dark mysterious kid in the corner had at least watched an episode!

"Where's the angel you were talking about?" Jughead asked with furrowed eyebrows to my laptop screen.

"He comes in season 4." I sighed.

"What season are we on?" He then asked.

"Still on season 1." I reminded with a small chuckle.

"Are you sure?!" Jughead asked with a raised eyebrow to me now and I nodded.

"Pretty sure. No ones died yet." I chuckled before covering my mouth.

"Someone dies??" Juggie over exaggerated though I hadn't been fazed because I was already caught up.

"No...?" I answered more of a question than an answer and he exhaled sharply as he leaned onto my headboard behind us sadly.

"Can you at least tell me who dies?" He asked, looking down at me and I shook my head which made him exhale once more.

"Just watch.." I whispered, pulling the screen closer to him. "...you'll understand if you watch.." I sighed.

The whole night we kept watching until I had unknowingly fell asleep. When I woke up later in the night and noticed that Jughead was still intently watching as if he had never moved from beside me all night.

"Jug, did you ever go to sleep?" I asked groggily rubbing my eyes as I sat up straighter off my headboard.

"There's no time to sleep." He stared, deep in thought with his eyes glued to the screen. "How can you watch this? It's so..gruesome.." Juggie flinched as he put his hands together and covered the center on his mouth with the side of them in interest towards the show.

"It's only because it's season 1, Juggie." I reminded.

I'm sorry, this is a really late update that's not even edited. Who watches Supernatural? Like I'm watching it while writing and thought that it'd be great to tie in because well...Jughead just seems like he'd watch it.

Goodnight :D
