"Hey sis!" I said excitedly. All of these heroes were my friends now. How cool is that!! It's not everyday you meet friends like this.
"Hey Jade. What's up?" Selina said with her usual greeting. Oh yeah Selina Lepardo de las Nieves is my big sister. She's actually around Iron fist's age, now that I think about it.
"Oh nothing much. Hey listen is it ok if I bring my friends over to the apartment tomorrow? It turns out school's out that day....So can I bring them tomorrow?" I said, the six heroes looking at me with anticipation and joy evident in their eyes.
"I don't know Jade." I wilted at that sentence. "I have a very important job I was given about a week ago, and you know how much those jobs mean to us." Selina spoke, concern and worry in her voice. She was acting like a big sister and I totally agree with that. But I have friends that actually care about me and they also want to hang out with me.
'This would also take out any kind of suspicion about where both me and Selina are from.' I thought, then quickly erasing the negativity out of my mind before it could manifest itself.
"Listen sis. It'll only be for a little while and there's only a couple of people." I explained.
"I'm still not sure Jade. It depends on how many people you bring. " Selina said, and that was good. This meant she was close to accepting as long as it was between the numbers of 3-10 people.
"Selina I'm only bringing 6 people. " I quickly stated. I mentally counted 'getting an answer in 3...2...1...0'
There was a sigh on the other line and a lightening of the atmosphere as if she was smiling. "All right. They can come." Selina said accepting defeat.
I covered the phone and gave the team a happy smile and a bunch of nods. The victory happiness was contagious as they beamed at each other and gave high fives. Not before Selina spoke again.
"But... they have to clean up after themselves and whatever mess they make. Also I'll be there too. It's not a party until I walk in Jade." She said trying to sound parental and stern but ultimately failing in the end. I smiled and listened closely to the other line.
"Are you going to Starbucks again?" I said teasingly.
"No... MAYBE... Don't judge me." Selina tried to hide, but failing.
"I knew it. I knew you were addicted to that stuff. You better get me some when you get home." I screamed into the phone, successfully scaring my fellow friends.
"Bye Jade." Selina said laughing on the other line.
"Bye Selina" I said, hanging up. I turned to my friends. "Party is a go!" Everyone cheered but Iron fist still looked lost and sad.
'Oh boy Danny. You have no idea what's waiting for you tomorrow.'
