(Lucy's POV)

Court.

It's today.

Today we go to court.

My nerves are all over the place and I can't bring myself to get out of the bed. When I glance at the clock, it reads 8:10. We have to be in the courtroom by 9:10 and the trial starts at 9:30.

I shrink further into my sheets and try my best not to cry. I close my eyes and try to block out the rest of the world.

When I open my eyes again, Carla is walking into the room. She's dressed in a dark brown pencil skirt with a brown and white cardigan.

"Lucy you can't just lie in bed all day. You need to get ready." She says sternly.

"Yeah? And who the hell put you in charge?" I snap.

I get out of bed and push her out of my room. After slamming the door, I walk towards the bathroom to finally get ready. I decide to take a shower before getting changed.

I wash my hair and my body and shave and then get out. My clothes are already laid out and I dry off and slip into them. I'm wearing black dress pants and a white dress shirt. I don't feel like myself in these clothes.

Ignoring the rest of my features for now, I walk out to go eat breakfast or eat something at least. When I enter the kitchen, movement ceases. I ignore them and continue to grab a granola bar. I'm out of the kitchen just as fast as I came in.

When I'm back up in my room, I've already eaten the bar. I hadn't realized how hungry I was. I put the wrapper in the trash and continue to get ready.

After brushing my teeth, I move on to brushing my hair. It's a frizzy mess when I get done blow drying it. I brush and curl it when I'm done. Makeup doesn't seem to be on my to do list right now or any time soon so I leave the bathroom.

After staring in the closet for ages, I decide on a pair of plain black flats. They're uncomfortable on my feet, but heels would be worse. I grab a purse and shove my belongings in there before heading downstairs to find the others.

When I check the clock it reads 9:00. We'll get there just in time. I push past everyone and step out into the warm air. When I look out into the street I see three cars. I recognize two of them as police SUV's. When I look at the third one, I recognize it as Jason's.

He's standing on the sidewalk, looking at me. He's dressed in a black suit and tie with dress shoes.

I walk towards his car. I don't why because we were in the middle of something. I don't know exactly what to call it though, a fight, breakup, I don't know.

I walk to the other side of the car and open the door. After I slide in, Jason opens his door and gets in, too. "You okay?" He asks me.

"I'll be fine," I reply.

He sighs like he seems to do a lot and starts the car. We wait for everyone else to pile into the other cars before we start driving.

It's dead silent in the car and neither of us tries to speak.

We arrive at the courthouse and I'm quick to get out of the car.

We file into the courtroom lobby and find one of the elevators.

What room did the judge say? I don't remember...

Carla presses floor two and that's when I remember room 213.

We arrive on the second floor and that's when I take the lead and start to walk towards the room. I just want to get this over with. I want to know what Luke is going to do. He may play the crazy card or just plead guilty. I'm just glad he's not going to trial with this.

We walk into the room and the bailiff leads us to a long row chairs behind a large desk. Each of them has a name tag on it and we sit where we're assigned to. My chair is closest to the table where Luke will be sitting.

I want to sink down in my seat and hopefully sink through the floor, but I maintain my posture as I have the whole time. When I look to my left Luke is being escorted in by two police officers. I try not to cringe back into my seat, but it's kind of hard.

I can feel his eyes on me the entire time he is guided to his seat. The girls are staring intently at me too. When I make eye contact with Luke, he's smirking at me. I try to tear my eyes away from him, but all I do is glare at him. I finally break the contact as the bailiff announces the Judge's arrival.

We all stood until we were told to be seated. His name was Judge Thornton. "Will the defendant please rise?" Luke stands up and smirks. He's enjoying this all too well. "How do you plead to the charges against you?" He glances up from his glasses and glares at Luke.

"Guilty," Luke simply states.

"After the killing of one young woman and one young man, it has been decided that you will serve 30 years in prison. For the kidnapping of 6 young women, you will serve 80 years in jail. Adding up to life, you have no parole," The Judge states in a monotone voice as if he's done this millions of times before. I look over at Luke. I can tell he's trying not to let his smirk falter. "Court is adjourned."

That makes the corners of my mouth twitch. He won't be able to bother me or anyone else anymore and that brings a sense of relief to me. I let out a breath I had no idea I was holding and a weight is lifted off of my shoulders.

I look over at the rest of the girls and they're smiling and hugging each other. I look at Katherine as she looks at me and I hug her. Everything that ever happened is forgotten and I just hug her.

I look over at Luke and he's talking to a man behind the railing. He reaches into his bag and pulls out something black. A gun. Before I have time to react, the gun is pointed at me. No one moves an inch. He walks towards me and puts the gun to my head.

I'm frozen in place until he jerks me towards him. His arm is wrapped around my neck with the gun pointed to my head. "No one moves," He says, loud enough for everyone to hear. Everyone in the back has left except the guy who gave the gun to Luke.

I look at everyone desperately. They look at me sympathetically because they can't do anything without the risk of me getting shot. I'm crying now and everyone is quiet until the bailiff starts to speak. "Mr. Bogers, put the gun do-"

"Shut up!" Luke fires into the air and puts the barrel of the gun back to my head. I scream out in pain because of the heat. It burns into the side of my head and I want to touch it, but Luke won't let me.

"Please let me go," I cry.

"No can do, babe. Got to have fun with you at some point, right?" He whispers in my ear. I cry harder.

He faces me towards the girls and they all look like they're trying to think of something to do. My eyes are filled with tears and it's getting harder to breathe. Luke looks like he's about to say something, but the gun is snatched from is hands and he's wrestling with what looks like a guy from the S.W.A.T. team. I want to do something instead of watch, but I'm frozen.

Luke gets his arm away from him and grabs the gun. I'm breathing really hard now and my vision is becoming blurred by black dots. That's when I realize that Luke shot me. My mind is whirling and I can't figure out where he shot me.

More men dressed in all black rush in and tackle Luke, kicking the gun away. I'm spinning now and there's voices calling my name all around. I can't tell where they're coming from and I'm too dizzy to try and figure it out.

My vision goes all black and I fall to the floor unconscious.
