LOST SOUL

Honk!!!!

The sound of the train woke me up.

I've just arrived to XXXXX. It's 12 noon. I bought a bento in the nearby shop and eat there. Many people were walking there. I wonder, Do they know that supernatural creatures exist? Or maybe they are the creatures themselves. I can't tell who's normal and who's not.

Finishing my meal, I passed through a little girl crying.

"What's the matter little one?" I asked her.

"My mom!! *hick* She's gone!" Her crying face melts my heart. Her curls were messy and her face was dirty. "Don't worry. We'll look for her. What does she look like?"

"She's beautiful and she was wearing a pink dress and black hat."

"Ok. I got it." I held her hand and made her sit down on the other side. I bought her ice cream and I went straight to the police men nearby about the description she said.

They said that they've never seen someone wearing that. I continued my search to the store owners and they said the same thing.

I held her hand and carried my bag. We went out of the station to ask people outside. Some people were looking strangely at me.  I didn't mind them, I just look at the little girl and smiled at her.

It was 3pm and I still haven't found the little girl's mom. My time is also running out.

I turned to the little girl and she was staring at a grave site. She pointed it out and I followed. We were standing in front of three graves.

I kneeled down to read the names of the owners. It was covered with moss, plants and dirt. It was impossible to read except for the smaller grave in the middle.

I saw the girl rub her hand in the small grave in front of her and slowly... her hand was fading...

"What's going on little girl?" She turned to me.

She smiled at me...

"Thank you Lady Saneel. You're really nice like they say. I'm finally home after a long time" and a very bright light pierced my eyes so I had to close it.

When I slowly opened it. She was gone.

"Are you related to them miss?" A voice from my back asked. It was an old man.

"No. I'm not. It's jus that a little girl--- you wouldn't believe me sir. I fthink I found the little girl" I just chuckled. It was hard to explain.

"You don't know how many weird things are in this place. These graves belong to a family who all died in the train station 20 years ago. They were my friends. The parents' bodies were found easily but the little girl was not found." His voice was sad.

"I'm sorry to hear that sir."

"There's no need. These friends of mine believed in supernatural beings and there were stories that vampires killed them and stole the little girl's heart. Be careful on your way home miss" and he started walking away.

"Wait! Do you believe in vampires, sir?"

"In my 80 years of living, I have not seen one of them but that family always believed it. Their daughter would always cry in the station and said she's hoping to meet the root of all vampires... Funny isn't it? But they died for nothing." And he left.

This must be the reason that people were looking at me. Smiling to yourself while walking is really a laughing stock but I don't care.

I gave my prayers to the family especially to the little girl. "You didn't die for nothing little girl. You've really met her though Saneel is only a part of my soul and I'm not a vampire."

I stood up and started walking away from the graves. It was already past four and I have to do what I came here for but I'll return back here to give my proper goodbye to a lost soul not waiting for me but for someone part of me.

I'm me and Saneel is herself.

This experience of meeting a lost soul was not terrifying to me. It just comforts my heart that even a nobody like me can do something.

I hope to smile again...
